Getting on Deja Vu

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby regulator0407 on July 19th, 2005, 8:16 am
whenever i go to six flags i always want to go on deja vu but its either broken down or its a 2 hour wait so i only get on it once everytime i go...

on sfgamworld ive read how people have been on it so many times and how they get on it so much...

i guess my question is...is there any good strategies to getting on deja vu multiple times in one day...

I guess I've just gotten lucky and gone on days when the park was empty. first time was opening weekend when no one was around so lines were short. second time was a few weeks ago when I only had 3 hours or so in the park, but DV's line was short enough so that we could get at least 1 ride in. make sure you check the line; if the switchbacks aren't open, the line is significantally shorter.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

If you get there before opening, run to Vu to get on first dispatch. You could probably get back on 1 or 2 more times with a very short wait right after that.

Then, around park closing, if you get in line just right before the park closes (maybe 5 mins), you could possibly get in multiple rides because there would still be a few people in the station waiting to get on. All you have to do is fill in the empty seats. By doing this I got on it 7 times when the park closed on April 30th.

It might not always work, but that's what I've experienced numerous times.

She is right. Also, lines are somewhat shortrer during the shows, i'm not sure if DejaVu is included with this, though.

Go 100 times in 1 season. You're bound to get a very empty day.

BTW, what is the record for most visits? Mine was 22 but I'm sure that was nowhere near the high.

ya gotta go on it right as the park opens or right as it closes. I guess that's out of the question though since you posted at 10:10 you must be at home still

Okay, make sure you either ride it first thing or if you see it broken down, get in the line forming. What was nice when I was there was we had ERT because it was Coaster Con. So me, Jeff, and Nolan rode it 9 or 10 times in about an hour. They have a really good crew, so unless it breaks down or there is a HUGE line, I would suggest waiting for it.

yeah, mornings and last rides are the best times to get on that ride. I hate waiting in long lines for it, so i usually just wait for those times.

^Hehe but you still managed to get fourth place in running of the bulls (Me and Jeff plus two other Acer's stood and waited for Deja Vu after ERT and got first ride)! Too bad, you could have been first!

^But we were there so you and Zack made it 4th and 5th. This is what you get for telling me you were getting a Vekoma florless hydraulic launch coaster. So ha! And tell Danny to stop calling me just to say he's at SFGAm and that I'm welcome to come with you guys. BUT WAIT! I can't because I live 2000 miles away from SFGAm!

Vu isn't worth the wait anyway. :?

If you like the Vu so much, go to SFMM and check out the one there, the line isn't nearly as long.

Why Can't the operators hurry up with checking the seatbelt and the harness. It seems like they take 5 minutes to check the seatbelt and 5 minutes to check the harness. They got 5 or six people working on the ride. it'll cut the wait in half. Mabye they have to take the time to do it.

First, you should learn more about the ride before you say bad things about the ops. They do their best, they usually have problems with guests that pull down their green harnesses. Also, they have to check the harnesses and restraints twice: first check the orange safety belts (they have to wait for every one to be checked before checking the harnesses), then they check the harnesses. It is a long process, if there was a way to move quicker, trust me, they would do it.

Excuse you, I didn't say anything bad about the ops, I rode this ride too many times to not know.
