Most of the talk is just about the design of the ride so nothing we don't already know, but Hank said it should go vertical the week after thanksgiving, topped off over winter and will hopefully open in "early spring."
As Hank mentioned in the video, they are going to put the footers on the ground before they start building the ride. This will hopefully speed up the construction process so Goliath will be ready for opening day.
Long time reader, first time poster. I have been on some coasters that RMC has put topper track/ repair but Goliath will be the first true RMC coaster for me. I hope to go to Texas in Spring Break to ride both of the Iron Horses there.

Is this a surprise?? I guess I thought that is how all of them are
It seems like the other side always wins on American Eagle Also, I've ridden Goliath 23 times in one day. HBU? (Sorry in advance for unnecessary commas and parenthesis every where)

On Outlaw Run, the shin bars are unpadded and are really the only downside to the ride, which is fantastic on all fronts otherwise.

The front clearly moves as if it is a separate car of the train. This was probably to make the front as large and epically awesome as they could which was necessary to nail the theming the way they did.

Or maybe they did it so that the first set of passengers aren't taking the track changes directly. Also, the first axle provides support for the front of the train. This is the same concept used on Raging Bull with its first axle.
Yeah, that's just the 0 car. It's articulated only in one, sometimes 2 directions, there is always articulation on the Z axis so it can roll, some are set up to flex side to side to take flat turns, but it can never flex up and down in order to keep the rest of the cars in the train from falling forwards and kinda stumbling.
All trailered trains have one, though occasionally it's built into the front car(Arrow/Vekoma/PTC), and on B&M inverts and floorless (except for Aplengeist) they feature a row of seats on it.
If you can wrap your head around that, here's a good pic showing the lack of the one articulation, notice the gap between the 1'st and 2'nd row, then all the rest of the rows of the train, remember, inverts have seats on the 0 car (front car)
Do any of you guys think that Goliath will be VERY underrated like X Flight? I just have a bad feeling that Goliath will get bad reviews. It seems like the one and only ride people like is Raging Bull. In my opinion, I think Raging Bull is overrated. I have been on all the B&M hyper coasters in America (Apollo's Chariot, Diamondback, Intimidator, Goliath @ SFOG, Raging Bull, and Nitro) and I got to tell you, Raging Bull is my least favorite out of all the other B&M hyper coasters.

I do think it WILL be underrated however, I don't think it will be as underrated as X Flight. X Flight does have ALOT of negative reviews.
What I can see happening is people from the site will ride Goliath and say it's the most amazing thing ever, then other enthusiasts will ride it and say it's not as good and then people will say it's underrated. It happens on any fan website as people just aren't impartial on them.
That being said, I'm sure Goliath will find a spot within the top 15 wood coasters, but I don't think it's going to knock El Toro off it's thrown. People will definitely complain about it's length, but I don't think anyone will say it's a bad ride. So while I don't think people will praise it as much as the site will, it will still be one of the best wood coasters in the world and a very popular ride with enthusiasts and GP alike.
It seems like the GP just can't be pleased any more. Personally I like X-Flight. I think the GP just looks at coasters at other parks and says that's better than what I have. Sure, I would rather go on Gatekeeper or Nitro but I have X-Flight and Raging Bull practically in my backyard. They just don't appreciate what they have.

Even though Goliath will break an unprecedented three world records (steepest drop on a wooden roller coaster, fastest wooden roller coaster, and have the tallest drop) I still don't think people will like it that much. If I'm not mistaken (please correct me if I'm wrong) when ThemeParkReview rode X Flight when it opened, I don't think they liked it that much. I don't think TPR really likes any of our roller coasters at our park. That being said, I am starting to wonder what TPR will think of Goliath.
