I like it both ways, but the coaster doesn't seem as thrilling when I ride it backwards. What if they had one train face forward and one backward on both tracks, or each side took turns facing forward and backward? Just an opinion.

If one train faced forward and one faced backward on each track, it would be way too confusing for loading guests. And maintenance would not be happy constantly removing trains from the track altogether just to change their direction. :)

i like the american eagle both ways but a little more bacwards caususe # 1 some people don't like to go backwards which means a little less if a line and #2 its a little mire thrilling when you can't see where you going. and a roller coaster aint a good roller coaster unless it whips the crap out of you in my opinion i like rough roller coasters

Backwards, everything is more fun when you go backwards. Forward is a close call though.

I don think the ride is that thrilling forward. Next season I will try backwards and see what is better and I have a feeling backward will be better.

I like backwards for the first drop. That has got to be the best drop in Great America. However, i prefer forwards because backwards is rougher and i always come off with a headache. Forward doesn't bother me at all headache wise. Forward all the way!

That does seem to be the rumor on the street.

It won't matter, red will still be better overall anyway.

I don't even think forward is rough now, so I'll probably be in love with it next season.

Backward isn't rough for me at all, except in the last helix.

^It isn't that rough, however, i also have a problem with going backwards and that second half of the helix puts it over the top for me.

:D Then maybe maintenance can switch the directions of the trains every season. For example, the blue side can face forwards while red faces backwards on one season. Then on the next season, it's the other way around. That should make it a lot easier since the trains have to be removed from the track every offseason anyways.

Lets just take hammers to the brakes and hack away the track!
