Whizzer

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Do you think Whizzer should have been taken down instead of Shock Wave??? I do not at all. I do understand Whizzer causing a lot to operate but why take it down? I know Shock Wave was really high and had 7 inversions, but I think Whizzer is such a classic. I would choose Whizzer to stay.

I would say neither because I absolutely loved Shockwave, but it was taken down for the better. I just wish I had one chance to ride it one last time. Also Whizzer is good for the families, and is a classic. I still have fun riding it, and hopefully it stays for a while.

Never went on shockwave, but I really dont care for whizzer. If I have time to ride it at the end of the day, then i will, otherwise I dont care about it. Answering your question about which should stay, it would have been nice to see shockwave stay. Whizzer is not much of a classic to me since I havnt been riding it for years.

I would be happier about it if they had a better flying coaster in sw spot, I also wish sw would have been relocated.

Whizzer has been at the park for 30 years and I hope it's there for another 30. Sure, Shockwave was a good ride, but myself and most other general public like Superman better.

I like Whizzer it's a nice family ride. I also like Shockwave, too. Those were both nice rides. Superman ia an okay ride, it's not my favorite.

Shockwave had one good part: The lift hill.

The coaster had low ridership because of how bad the ride was. People didn't want to ride something that just beat the crap out of them all day. It might be different for people like us who ride it so much that we know what makes it a good ride (like Iron Wolf) but for the most part it was a rough ride. There is a reason why the turn to the MCBR was reverred to as "The turn of death"

Simple fact is so many people complained about it until it was gone, now that it's gone everyone is complaining that it was taken out. I'd like to see what everyone would say after Whizzer is taken out.

One point that some people have failed to take notice of:

As far as Shock Wave goes, if you want to ride it so bad, go ride The Great American Scream Machine. If Whizzer was taken down, there's no other ride anywhere in the U.S. (maybe the world, I'm not sure though) that offers the same experience Whizzzer does.

I agree with all of you. There is not a day that goes by that i don't thank myself and others for protesting Whizzer's demise. I love that ride and it will be in my top 10 for a long time. Also, i have taken at least 10 people (mostly my little bro, his friends, and my girlfriend) on it for their first coaster. I like to keep memories. Also, shockwave just wasn't fun. I rode it the first time and didn't like it. Gave it a second chance in front row, still thought it was rough. Then, i gave it a third try in back row and got a concussion. Enough said, thank god it's gone

Shoackwave was never that rough for me. I can usually handle roughness, unless it's too much (Screamin Eagle SFSTL). One time when my brother went on it when he was younger he had a problem with his asthma on it, but when he rode it with me (my first few times) he had no problem, and neither did I. Last time I rode it (6th and final time) was in back row and I will never forget it. It was probably the best ride I had on it.

Thank you
exactly. After seeing the protests (More hearing of) when Whizzer was going to be removed, think what they would be now with the season over and no chance to ride it again.
