Pretty cool pics of the world's tallest and fastest coaster (at the time) being built.

I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!

Those were in a book that i read a long time ago. It had the list of how many feet of wood used, number of nails used, and how many gallons of paint used. I wish i could remember the name of the book. Great Pics!

Nice pictures Chitown. The picture of the helix being built is just mind boggleing how they did it and got everything to work perfectly.

Now I wonder where that American Eagle model is at Great America...

Trailblazer Tony, the facts you speak of are posted (at least they were at one point) on RCDB.com if you would like to retrieve them. I'm thinking they were cited from your book.

I didn't know Eagle's first drop went slightly below ground level. Now I get why it's 127ft tall with a 147ft drop. Cool pics.

heres something i think is really cool...

my grandfather helped build that ride. He said that he worked 13 hours a day 6 days a week. He mostly helped build the first helix from the station and the two hills after the drop. He also worked on whizzer. That he worked 12 hours a day 6 days a week but got finished in half the time. He worked on dip before the final helix and the block station that went around the spiral lift! :D  :!:

One of my friends used to work at GAm, and his job was to pick up all the bolts that fell off AE every day. He would come back with boxes of them.

Fine. Don't believe it. I knew that if I said it, it would get shot down right away. Don't believe me even though I actually saw him doing it before.

^ Do these bolts ever make it back onto the ride or are they waiting for the thing to fall apart?
