Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I havent ridden Medusa/Kraken so i dont know how good they are, but i have ridden Hydra at Doreny Park and while it was a decent ride it wasnt that great and i would much perfer a launched coaster like Xcelerator/Stormruuner. I dont know where they should put it but doesnt Kraken have sand inside the coaster track to reduce noise at SW???
And im sure the same could be done to reduce noise to lessen neighbors complaints. I would perfer if possible that no coasters be torn down to add new ones.

I agree that a ride is likely to come down the next time a big coaster is added, it would just be nice if it didnt have too happen.

Bob O.

It's not the sound of the coaster itself that the neighbors complain about. Its the screams of the riders. At least that is what I have read on the Gurnee site with the zoning variance meetings in the past regarding building a coaster over 125 ft.

The sand in the supports as you mentioned does work wonders. Silver Bullet at KBF has this and I was amazed how quiet it is.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

i think the model i would like to see is a Batman Knight Flight. Or a Batman the black Knight. THose are both really cool. And they could put it where Batman the Ride is now to keep the Batman theme but put in a new expierience, BTR is to short and you cant tell when you go upsidedown, you just get minor whiplash through the corckscrews and heartline.

so then alter his picture, instead of having the COASTER on the other side of the employee PArking Lot, move all that BACK!!! and create another Territory in that spot

You are an idiot. I can just see the meeting.

"We have a proposel to take down one of the most popular coasters in the park. It has a reletively high capacity, and a great amout of people ride it, and it is their favorite ride. So therefore, we wish to take it down in favor of another ride"

Yeah...That makes sense.

And before anyone says anything remember, this is not an opinoin it's the truth. Batman has all that overflow line for a reason.

^^^^I agree, Batman is a great ride...The theming is one of the best I have ever seen on a rollercoaster......But yeah I believe that they need to take out either Logger's Run or Ice Mountain Splash......

I agree with you josh on Ice splash mountain isn't very fun. I like Loggers Run but Ice splash mountain no thanks that needs to go and also either one of the flat rides has to go like Richocet or that Indian Boat like thingamabob over by Giant Drop because those aren't fun either but I hate Batman two reasons I hate the color of it now and it gives me the worst headache. But I have to disagree with Josh on Batman.

It would be great if we got a floorless, but the odds arent very good for 06, maybe 07 shall be great america's year. And now we wait............................
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

What if that all changes because of CF looking on buying SF. It's going to suck if SF gets bought I don't want things to change and even if we do get a floorless where would it go we'd have to tear down one of the other rides.

It would be awful if they removed BTR!! While it is short in length, it packs a great puunch in how intense it is and from the lines it has it hasnt lost its popularity which doomed ahockwave.
Chi-town, Do the riders make more irritating noise than the ride itself??? I heard that SW put in the sand in Kraken so it would reduce noise that would otherwise effect the sea animals, if this is the case wouldnt the people on the ride also bother the animals or was the ride noise more disturbing than screaming kids??

They wouldnt get rid of BTR because they just re-painted it and if they were going to get rid of it the they wouldnt do anything to it. Id CF buys six flags then sho knows what could happen.

ok now i didnt say i didnt like BTR its a cool ride, but you do get some headaches and all i was saying was that they should get something new in there. And FYI... ALL batman rides are short so i just thought a new expirience would be nice and also binks a new ride would have much longer lines.

Removing Batman would be a complete mistake. When I went on it I hated it but it has a small footprint and is still fun.

There are very few coasters that would fit B:TR's spot, most likely it would have to be custom.

Binks youre right that was idiotic to say....Batman is a great and popular coaster, and has an excellent capacity as well. It runs well too, so no point in putting in a greatly known successful ride!

Oh sure a new ride will have long lines, for one great america wont give fastlanes available to new rides so thats one reason and yes its new, but look at how "old" batman is and it still delivers excessive lines for its intense experience....so why take it out if it does great....just because you want something new thatll have long lines for a little while??

alright i now see your point binks, i love batman and i failed to realize how old it was. But maybe they could put it (not BTR) somewhere else. Take SFMM for example they have 3 batman rides (four including the posion ivy ride) so maybe take out a different ride like IW. FOr one thing how often does it have long lines. Two you cant come off without something hurting. and 3 its long (not in track length, space) and has almost the same width as BKF or BTDK. So, now what do you say :?:

This is the most selfish group of people I've seen in awhile.

"Take out Riochet or the indian boat thingy because no1 likes that"

^What the hell??? Flat rides are there for the people who can't handle the coasters yet. You would not believe how many people those rides get a day. YOU NEED BALANCE. All you guys want it a park full of coasters, and frankly, I would find that quite boring. Learn what makes a park a park then you can tell me what can be removed.
