SFGAm's Sign

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Rusty888 on November 6th, 2005, 8:45 pm
No he means the CF would buy SFI, therefore changing the company name. But anyways, I liked the sign better when mariott owned the park, because I think the lettering looked better.

Nobody is buying the company. They set the deadline date to October 24th, 2005 and no one bought it.

Oh, definatley....I hope Cedar Fair really does buy us. We would be even better off than we already are.....(correct?) I just love the reputation their company has and we would have excellent landscaping :D

I highly doubt that the Six Flags name would change. The name is so well known that a company may want to buy the chain just for the name. If CF ever purchased SF, most likely Cedar Point would change its name to Six Flags Cedar Point.

I can be positive that CEDAR POINT would never change their name by adding SIXFLAGS to it :o
Everyone knows CedarPoint....alot of people Ive come in contact with think every six flags is the same, but know what cedar point has :x

Cedar Fair should purchase at least SFGAM and SFGAD! I mean if these are money makers in our chain then why not purchase them? And isnt it possible that we could be receiving greater and bigger thrill rides?

^ Cedar Point is not an amusement park chain. You are refering to Cedar FAIR. Cedar Fair does not attach their name to the parks they own, so Cedar Fair's Great America would never happen.

Six Flags Inc. has made it clear that they are not selling individual parks, they are selling the company as a whole. Trust me, if it was just individual parks for sale, there would be many many people lined up to buy GAm.

I beleive that this topic was about the tollway sign..............

That sign sports the old Six Flags logo from the Time Warner days. It used to be backlit and was a lot showier in its heyday.

Its a hefty cost to pull it down and build new. Capital expediture for sure. I don't think its in the parks best intrest to construct a new one.

but its the little improvements, that also keep the GP coming back. A new sign, a new roof, new walkways may seem like a waste of money but they really are not.
People want to come to a park that looks nice. More people are apt to come if they see a new beautifl sign. They may see the sign andthe american eagle and think I have nto been to SFGAM in ages I should go and actually go where the year before when the sign was old, they would drive by, see the Eagle and drive by the sign and not even notice it and not even think of going to the park.
if they keep on putting off improvements to see how the park does, then the park is just getting more and more run down and eventually people will think this is a run down park I am not coming back

Binks Drake has a point, most run down parks don't get 3 million vistiors a year.
