So now that SFGAM has closed for the 2005 season I wanted to ask this question. What was one memorable,or interesting moment you had at the park this year? Feel free to put down any fun, interesting, sad, angry, scary, awesome,or amazing times you had.
Mine deffinately would have to be going to Opening Day of Hurricane Harbor. It was just cool to be one of the first Guests into the park, and the rides were really fun that day. I sang Karaoke on the stage in the little beach area. haha. But 2005 was awesome, next season I am looking to make some seriously awesome memories!
Mine would have to be that I was sitting on the steps by LAFF and one of the alien dudes came up to me and made me jump, I made a run for it, then he got his friend involved then he got the soldiers involved and this one soldier kept saying "I'm watching you" and he did and wouldn't leave me alone he watched me for 3 hours , but then I made a mistake we were standing by the entrance for season pass holders at LAFF and all of the soldiers there were 3 of them scaring other people and I opened my big mouth and said "Oh no not you guys again" They walked over and yelled in my ears and everyone was laughing at me Also I was sitting on one of the benches by the spacecraft drinking Diet Coke and the soldier that said he was watching me came up behind me and scared me, i had diet coke up my nose and he told his friends and they started laughing, i started sneezing and my nose was burning because of the Diet Coke so one of the soldiers that was like an apprentice to the soldier that watched me asked "Why you sneezing" I said "Because I have Diet Coke up my nose" He said "I think you need a doctor" I was like "No i'm ok really" He said "I think you need the mad scientist" I was like "Oh no anything but him, seriously i'm not sneezing anymore i'm really ok" He said "No I think you need him let me get him for you" I was like "I'm in for it now" so the mad scientist came over and said "I heard you're having a sneezing problem what's wrong" I told him "I have Diet Coke up my nose" He said "Don't worry I can fix that" He took out a syringe the size of a Hawaii I was like "Oh my god" I started running like no other, I ran to the bathroom and hid, it was not even funny. The soldiers got me every time and there was a time I started crying because I was so scared, you guys should have seen, my friends were laughing their heads off and I had to hide in the bathroom for a half an hour not to mention when I came out of the bathroom they were there waiting for me and I had to run through the firehouse just to avoid them. I finally had the guts to stand up to the soldiers and the aliens, I got used to them because they stopped yelling in my ear after the 100th time, but the scientist just really wanted to get the Diet Coke out of my nose and I just kept booking it out of there,
mine would have to be May 7th, 2005. I met all my coaster friends that day. The day was supposed to be just Jeff and me, but we got there that day and immediately saw Dan waiting for us. He was like " It's Jeff" and Jeff and I knew we were hanging out with him from that point on. His friend Jerome was there too. So we hung out with Dan and Jerome all day, I formed a crush (which later became a realationship, but that's a completely different story). So Dan had to leave at 4:30ish to go to a hockey game but almost immediately after he left, Jeff's friend Eric called him, and we met up with Eric and his friend Zach. Then we hung out with them for the rest of day. This meeting formed our group of people for the summer. It was a great thought.
Another day i remember vividly was the first time Dan and I went to six flags in our relationship. We hadn't figured out how to tell Jeff we were dating without making him mad, so we just kinda acted like friends when we were around him, and then acted like a couple when we were. Then we were walking out of the AE tent, and Jeff caught us holding hands, and he was mad.
I have quite a few. Walking through Hurricane Harbor for the first time was probably the most vivid. Just the way it looked, the music, the coasters in the background. It was overwhelmingly amazing to me. Another cool part was me stapling a dollar to a freak at the Freak Show during my first fright fest. My first year with a season pass rocked, prom weekend here was a blast, waiting 2.5 hours for Raging Bull on Oct. 15. This year is probably my most memorable yet.
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
^ Thanks Ally, just completely ignore the fact that I was there.
It would have to be September 17th.
It was Eric, Nolan, Zach, Jerome, Alyssa, Jeff, and I.
Deja Vu just reopened and everyone except me and Jeff are getting off while me and Jeff are boarding. We go up the second tower...click..CLANK. Stuck on the 2nd tower for 10 minutes. Then seeing Curty calming down the crazy man in 3b and getting evaced. Then being greeted by water being thrown on us moments later.
The best part for me was going back to sfga after 2 years of not going. It was great to see the mardi gras area and HH for the first time. I also got to ride RB for the first time ever.

You failed to mention that "Jeff" surprised all the nice enthusiasts that day and already knew about that little relationship.
BTW, I'll post my good and bad memories from the 2005 season as well. I'm just constantly adding more and wouldn't like to leave ANYTHING out. Now would I?

When Deja Vu vallies it vallies between the loop and boomerang or it stays in the boomerang. When it miscatchs it lands in the brakes and they can just restart it. Ask any crew member from Deja Vu and they will tell you when it vallies they won't be working that ride for a couple of weeks. When it miscatchs it will take 30 minutes at the most.
It can also miscatch on tower 1 and end up in the station (not parked correctly of course). It is more common to miscatch on tower 2, though. Technically, it does valley (just about 10 feet ) after they release the brakes as the train is not centered when the brakes stop it. After it is just hanging there motionless with no brakes released, the catchcar is attached manually and the train is hoisted back up the tower for trial #2.
According to the Park: Miscatch happens when a train misses a catch car and stops in the brake.
So according to that defintion when the train stops in the inbetween the loop and boomerang or in the boomerang it isn't a miscatch because in order to stop in those spots it has to drop from the top of the tower. I've seen it myself because I worked at the ride.
I also got to staple a dollar onto one of the freaks, I believe it was Ses Carney. That was a pretty cool show! I enjoyed it. I also finally conquered my fear of the Mausoleum of Terror, I was always SO chicken and finally went in. IT WAS GREAT!
