What did you think of Hurricane Harbor?

Well if 5 is the best, I'd give it a 4 because: 1.) too small, especially the wave pool, 2.) no tall record-breaking slide (current record is 120 ft.) or tall slide in general, it lacks body slides which are my favorite 3.) theming was excellent except for the lack of palm trees/shade in general (I understand why) and theming to cover the (edit: slide) structures (though the structures don't necessarily look bad). Other than that it's awesome!

For a first year waterpark, it looks phenominal. Remember, they had the entire waterpark to build in one off-season, so attention to detail is amazing given the time they had. The first year is always a trial year, most of the GP at waterparks wait for the tube slides, therefore, there were mostly tube slides. Also, Twixmix, they do have a record, World's Largest Interactive Water Treehouse (i don't know the official term), Skull Island. This was smart because that was probably the clincher in getting families to go. I reitterate my five, if that counts.

Yes, the world's largest interactive water play structure. Yes, I'd give it a 9/10 but it's only out of 5 so i went with 4 (I could have gone with 4.5 I guess). Personally, Skull Island doesn't appeal to me (but that's just me) but it was still a smart move by the park.

I liked HH. It didn't give me any reason to hate it. The only thing i didn't like was the crowds. I enjoyed all the slides, and i was pleasantly suprised by how well Skull Island turned out. I think they should expand, there is so much more that can be done with HH.

I went to a few waterparks this year: Mt. Olympus, Noah's Ark, Wildwater Adventure, and Hurricane Harbor. Hurricane Harbor was the best overall water park from that list, it had atmosphere, and the slides were good overall. Mt. Olympus had the best slides, especially the new one that they put up, Noah's Ark just wasnt great, not a great waterpark in my mind. Hurricane Harbor out of 5 gets a 4.67 because the atmosphere is excellent, the slides are great, the food selection is better than most places, the only downfall, the capacity, it needs expansion, which it will get, and needs a bigger wave pool.

I liked how they had real sand and the palm trees, those were pretty awesome. I felt like I was at a real beach in the Bahamas, I sat in the sun for like 3 hours because it was totally awesome. I loved the racer slides the ones where you lie on your stomach I beat my friends every time we went on the slides, it was so cool. I'm coming home over summer so i'm sure i'll be at the "beach" if i'm not at the beach then i'll be at the racer slides or in the lazy river sleeping, one of those three places. HH was a blast this year, i'm gonna miss that.

I personally think that the park would have done better by expanding the regular park. Most of us within and hour drive of SFGAm are also within 2 hours of a bigger waterpark. There are lots of waterparks in the Dells, a REALLY cool one in Iowa. But I suppose since the themeing was great, the live palm trees (what do they do with those in the winter BTW) and the fact that it was free w/admission, I'd give it a 3. But if they make you pay extra in up coming years to do both parks....I'd drop it to a 1. Makes no sense to pay for both parks, when you can take 2 trips to 2 different places and get more for your money.

I think that the palm trees will be put in storage for the winter. Though they aren't in very good condition anymore, so I don't know if it will be worth it except to save money on new ones.

No, they're dead. They bring in new palm trees every month or so in the summer becuase they can't really live outside here.

I know the trees are dead because as I said before, they spray paint the leaves green. But I never saw them replace the trees and I was there a lot of the time.

It is new, so those that give a low rating because it is crowded need to rethink their rating in my opinion.

I only went to the park one time, and this was on my first trip. It was 50* out, and every slide was open. It was about 6:15, and half of the park was closed. In the 45 minutes, my friend and I went in the wave pool, half the lazy river, and a few slides. The slides are okay, and the lazy river should be more like CP. (you can go down another section that does not dump water on you) If SF wants to run the park better, the need to keep all slides open until closing, and add some bett er slides.(master blaster, tornado, but with rides/coasters added to the amusement side)

I give it a 4. Why?

*The slides were cool, but you had to wait 10 or 20 mins. for them.
*It was really stupid that you had to pay $6 or $8 more to rent a tube.

Of course you have to wait for slides. You even have to wait for slides at my local pool. I've never been to a water park/community pool where you did not have to wait for the waterslides.

They have free tubes, too.

Waiting in line for a slide for more than 10 minutes is just a waste of time. Now, I dont know how much fun the slides are there, but Im guessing its just not worth long waits. Thats just me though.

On a scale of 1 to 5.... Hurricane Harbor gets a 5, excellent attractions, amazing theming and when i went in there i didnt think i was at SFGAM, excellent addition.

I only went there once and that was early in the season. After that I stayed away from it. The lines to get in on every other trip I made were horrible!

I give it a 4. The waterslides, although short, were pretty good and intense. The themeing was pretty nice, although I still wish it was more of an island theme than a Florida beach town. The lazy river is my favorite thing to do at HH. Nice, relaxing, and pretty long. The only reason I didn't give HH a 5 is that the wave pool is too small, and crowd control/slide procedures were not the best. I can definately see this being a top waterpark with major expansion, which I think will happen.

Free tubes for the tube slides and lazy river. But for the wave pool, which sucks if you don't have a tube, I think it's a bit of a rip-off if you've already paid good money to get in.

And I understand that you have to wait for slides everywhere, but why wait 20 minutes for something that lasts 10 seconds if I could go right next to it and wait 20 mins. for Raging Bull, which has a duritation of about 3 mins?

I have a lot of fun in the wace pool!! Even though I don't have a tube. I go to the furthest i can, and have a blast!! My friend and I loved it. I give it a 4.5.

I give it a 5 this season. Why?

1. Built from the ground up waterpark. Give it time and capacity will get better as it expands. On top of that, this summer was extremely hot and unusual.

2. Real palm trees. They can survive summers here but the problem this year was the extreme drought we had. If they continue to have to replace them I foresee fake ones eventually being put in.

3. Theming. Very well done. Nuff said.

4. Daytime coaster riding was definitely noticable with shorter lines while HH was operating.

5. This was a LONG TIME COMING. SFGAm was probably the only major amusement park left in the country that didn't have a waterpark. This should have been done years ago but better late than never.

6. ROI. Smartest move the SF company did. They will gain back the cost of constructing this park probably within a few years.
