so i went to fright fest yesterday, and batman was closed. i have herd several reasons and i dont know what one to believe. my first that i would believe more is that the censors on the lift were malfunctioning, my second is that its to cold to operate that ride what one is true?
I'm pretty sure it's the sensors. From what I understand, the chain lift is constantly running, even when a train is not on it (but then it goes really slow). When a train gets to it, it picks up speed, so the train goes quicker up the lift. But when the train got about 3/4 of the way up, it went back to its 'idle' mode, causing the train to go very slowly up the rest of the way. It happened a couple of times, causing it to stay down. Again, this is how I understood it to happen. Hope this helps!

That is kind of what happens in all of the suspended coasters. About halfway up the chain, they slow down, however they eventually speed up. How would you go about fixing that? Would you have to reset the censors?
RIP: Trailblazer and Deja Vu...heck, even Alien Encounter
From what I heard today there is some electrictal issue causing that, either sensors on the lift, PLC glitch, or theMotor Controller for the lift is on it's last legs. But at this point the park has no clue (at least as of about 2 this afternoon)

That happened to us last Sunday. We were first train out and half way up it stopped and then VERRRY slowly started going up to lift one click at a time. It took us about 5 minutes to make it up the lift but after that it was fine and they even ran a train after us without testing it. The only thing that made me nervous is that it was raining out and I was worried about lightening because I had no clue as to how long it was going to take us to finally make it up the lift.
From what I've heard, it sounds like it might be the lift motor. Trains were moving up the lift at a snail's pace. With so little time, I don't expect it to open tonight.
Batman was closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But before it closed on Friday, we did manage to get first dispatch front row on BTR, which the lift was really slow lifting us up. There were less than 5 more dispatches before BTR closed, but this it was not me who broke it.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
well if it is a motor problem we should all be happy that it happened now and not june 22 when there was still a whole season now that its the last night it will be fixed by next year

UGH....I've said it before and I will say it OVER AND OVER AND OVER until this stupid explanation of ride closures ENDS.
THE ONLY TIME IT IS TOO COLD TO RUN A ROLLER COASTER IS WHEN IT IT BELOW 30 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was no where near that cold last night. UGH......
It was the lift sensors. I know, my friend works on it and I asked her!

It's probably just for removing the trains. At the end of the season the trains are taken off the track, put on a truck, and taken to the maintenace shed behind Wardrobe in the employee parking lot. There, over the winter, they get rehabed. New seats, paint, harnesses, whatever is needed to be replaced. But the trains are heavy, a crane is needed to lift them off the tracks and put into the trucks. There is always a crane by the maintenace shed, for that reason.
