WHOA THERE BUDDY. Switzerland is not a derogatory term....my friends and I use it all the time when we don't want to be in the middle of someone's argument....for example "hey so and so says that this is the right way to do it" and I respond...."don't look at me, I'm Switzerland"....as in I am the country that refused to take sides in either World War.....Switzerland=neutral.
As for my being a "explitive here" idiot.........there's no need to swear, there are minors on this board, let's keep it PG.
Welcome to ShockWave please pull your harness down as far as it will go. While riding ShockWave please keep your hands and feet inside the car, and your head against the headrest, please hold on to all loose articles, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride!
Sorry, if I offended you, that wasn't my intention. Sure Switzerland has a lot of coaster designers, but hey, as much as we are coaster freaks here, there is more to the country than that! Neutral territory, Swiss bank accounts, Swiss Chees, Swiss clocks, Swiss choclate...mountains, goats, and the country the Von Trapp family fleed to.

I think we are getting at the same thing, just different wording.
Floating Block is technically not a physical block, but as the train moves along down the brake run, the computer creates a block enveloping the train in it's own mind (hard drive I suppose:) ), and it moves this block along with the train with a predetermined distance in front of and behind the train to prevent collision.
And those "blocks" were calculated just right for the final brakes on Shockwave to safely hold 4 trains.
Kinda scary that something this complex came out of Arrow, and for the most part it worked, or at least we can assume it worked as SFGAm never disabled that feature.

I remember the day I went off at everyone on here...
http://themeparkcritic.com/scripts/profile/ViewProfile.asp?ViewID=2909 A furious storm once roared `cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon!
Yes it is true that you need more blocks than trains. But in shockwave's case the station and the brake run wasn't considered as block so it was possible to run three trains.
On the other hand BM coasters consider the brake run and station to be in blocks.
