Superman Causes people to black out. More than shockwave does.

^ I doubt it. In my opinion, S:UF is smooth, and SW was rough. But SW wasn't as boring.

I never got to go on Shockwave. I would have liked to, to form my own opinions about it. I do have this huge box full of old Marriot's Great America/Six Flags Great America merch, and I have a Shockwave pin from when it first opened, it's pretty nifty. Never been taken off of its backing, the price tag says 50 cents. Gift shop stuff must have been uber cheap then.

This will make a great poll.

"Which coaster makes you blackout more Shockwave or Superman?"

Uh, no definately not. There is nothing wrong with bringing up an old topic. It's better than seeing the forums clogged with new topics if there is already one about it. It also makes conversations easier to follow than reading two or three topics about the same thing.

Actually answering the question asked......

While not exactly the same Great American Scream Machine and Shockwave are very very very similar, just GASM is a little taller, same basic layout.

The park as viewed from the intersection of Route 21 and Washington St. with sun glare was in my Drive Right textbook.

Well, you and your friends are weird. J/K. I have never blacked out on S:UF (have had the urge to throw up everytime, after going into that loop), but I almost ALWAYS blacked out on SW after the 3rd loop coming up to the brake run.....good times....good times!
Welcome to ShockWave please pull your harness down as far as it will go. While riding ShockWave please keep your hands and feet inside the car, and your head against the headrest, please hold on to all loose articles, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride!

I went las Saturday and rode SUF 3 times in 15 minutes never once i felt like I was going to blackout just a push of force into your seat.

I think you're scared to death of the ride you pass out.

Ride it back row! All of the people i have taken on superman back row first time ever ridding it, they have blacked out! The g's are almost 5 times greater than your body weight. You have to get used to it before you can handle it, and that takes time and lots of ridding.

So dont call first time ridders weird for blacking out, cause its quite normal.

Yes, I refuse to ride Superman in any row other than back row. So much better in my opinion.

I have been hearing for years about people blacking out on Shockwave's third loop. I personally never had a problem with the ride myself. If any part actually caused pain to my body because of sudden movement, it was that crazy jerk to the LEFT. :) I was extremely let down by the park removing it without any notice to the public. By this I mean that I rode Shockwave for the last time...NOT knowing that it was going to be my last time. Instead I was getting all nostalgic over my "last" ride on Whizzer. Ah well, you can't win them all and while I enjoy Superman, I honestly did enjoy Shockwave a lot more. I mean seven loops...beat that! Also as an unexpected bonus, my last time on Shockwave was in the front row and one of the best times I ever had riding it. Rest in peace Shockwave and I hope to see you re-assembled elsewhere, if not right back at SFGAm (doubt it). RIP :!:
