Saturday, October 15: the day of 49.1K Tolerance

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Mr. D.T. on October 16th, 2005, 9:37 am
This was the busiest day in the season and I never, ever, EVER heard so many guests complaining! Why does Fright Fest always have to stay understaffed?

If any of you went to the park yesterday, what did you think about it? I think 49,200 is 49,200 too many!

I told all my friends it would be one of the busiest days of the season, but none of them listened to me. Got a few calls from people waiting in line for stuff. I think the worst one I heard was near 3 hours for V2.

Yeah, It was God-Awful. All the Characters were On Level Two, Superman's line was out to Bugs Bunny and Company, Ragin Cajun's Line was in Yankee Harbor, I never even bothered checking out Bull or Viper.

I heard that Bull's line was all the way to Viper, with a full queue. I dont remember what he said about Viper, but I know it was full and out to somewhere, it may have been into County Fair.

Wow... I'm glad I was there Friday. The lines were minimal. Raging Bull 15 minutes, no waits for Mausoleum of Terror, Sleepy Hollow 3D, or Internal Nightmare.

I've never seen lines or crowds like on Saturday. There were 20 minute lines for ANY kind of food or drink, lines for restrooms. I waited an hour and a half for the "rethemed demon" which was really just a little fog in both tunnels and the demon eyes in the first. I was not impressed. I spent most of the day just walking around looking at lines and seeing shows. When it was all over, it took over a half hour to get out of the parking lot. I'm looking forward to the spring!

The busiest day ever. Thats all i can say. Bulls line was to Viper. Vipers line was to orbit yes orbit. Iron wolfs line to the funnel cake stand. AE out to Revolution. Deja was closed. V2 was packed so i used a fastpass. Superman was to the looneytoon store i also used a fastpass for that. Demons line was to the wall climb. All of Batmans queue lines were full and wove all the way back to its original entrance. Most of the flat rides had short lines which surprised me so I went on some that i never have before. Went to Necropolis at night and had to wait 20 minutes to get in then waited 20 minutes to buy a ticket to get in the the Musolium of Terror. Right before I used up 8 dollars the announced it would be a 3 hour wait for the haunted house and there was no way i would wait that long and waste the last 3 hours of time there so I left. I waited in Bulls line for 2 hours and 30 minutes. At the end i guess it was a pretty good day didnt get to ride deja vu, batman, RC, and Viper. I will never go back to SGAM for Fright Fest on a Saturday!

Yes this was the busiest day I've ever seen in the 20 years I've been going to the park.

Anybody who had a Buy Two Get One fast lane coupon from the season pass book better have saved it until yesterday like I did. That was the best decision I've ever made. Second best was buying them as soon as we got into the park at 10 o clock.

What does level 2 mean for the scarers? I think I got an idea because I noticed some changes after a girl took a faceplant onto the conrete after getting scared in Necropolis.

Good job to all the employees who worked yesterday. The crowd was a record breaker for sure and it was handled as well as could be. Thank you.

I tried to go in , but it was way too busy. Worst day ever.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

I actually agree that I have never ever seen it that busy. It literally took us over 30 minutes to get a refill on soda! We actually only stayed 4 hours. We did no rides but did all 3 houses and saw 1 showing LAFF.

Glad i wasnt there!!
And for a friday night(the day before) it was busier than normal for a Friday night, but the weather was great so it wasnt surprising. But the crowds were easily manageable than what people put up with on sat.

I went yesterday too and I felt that the park was too crowded to enjoy it. I got to meet Ruk which was waaaay too cool and he was very very cordial :) I met alot of the Scaractors that post here too which was fun.
I could not believe how crowded it was! There were alot of rude customers too that would just run into you no matter which way you went. I accidently ran into a troll too, which I am terribly sorry about. I hope he forgives me! Btw, those spikes hurt  All in all we got to ride Raging bull and supertition. Got to see love at First fright which as usual was fantastic! The team really puts on a great great show! Kudos to them!

Believe it or not, American Eagle's line was using every switchback in the tent, and the line to get into Necropolis went all the way to Iron Wolf. The other problem was the line jumpers and smokers. I have never had to yell at so many people in my life.

FF is always like this on saturdays....... People just want a good deal on things, aka the buy one get one deals, but in the end, they pay for it. Cause it's crowded so badly that you can not really ride anything without long waits....... I plan on only going to fright fest once this year, last friday of the season, maybe also closing day, I haven't decided yet.....
Watch out theres a new Hurricane in Gurnee, IL!

I wish I was there. All i do in fright fest is walk around, and my friend tayler lives in the neighborhood that you turn right before the parking lot to get to. We never went to fright fest but at 9 oclock the freaking six flags traffic was terrible and we got stuck in it trying to get to his house. I dont care if its crowded, I just walk around pretty much and since i live so close its no big deal if the lines are long I just love walking through those gates and seeing the red water, torches, and the carosuel all orange lit.

A guest told me that the line to Bull went out to Hometown Square. I asked her if the switchbacks were opened and she said she wasn't sure. I heard guests complaining a 2 hour wait just to get something to eat and an hour for soda or beer. Isn't that something?!

I couldn't believe how crowded it was!!! My friends and I still had a lot of fun though. We bought 2 FastLane passes, so our day was enjoyable. We got there early enough to wait only 30 minutes for Raging Bull and Demon, but Fastpassed everything else. We rode Vertical Velocity twice, Superman twice (4 hour wait according to the other people in line), Iron Wolf, Batman, Giant Drop and Raging Bull once again. We waited for King Chaos and Ragin Cajun (about an hour each). Overall it was a fun day. I feel bad for people who spent the whole day there without FastPass.

I went yesterday, my last time for the season and I just went just to get on few rides. Other then that I just wanted to check out the themeing since I've already been to SFGAm tons this season.
All I can say is, IT WAS CROWDED. I've never seen it that crowded before. I heard at one point, RB's line was from the station, all the way to Aunt Martha's or somewhere in the Orbit area. There was a line just to walk through Necropolis.
Funny thing is though, the only ride that didn't have a line, was Jesters.
People must not like that ride, heck Columbia didn't really have a line either but it did have a somewhat of a line. Jesters didn't really have anyone from what I saw after I got off that ride.
The other ride(unsure about the kiddies rides) that didn't really have that long of a line was Condor, although it did have a full queue but it wasn't out of the entrance.

American Eagle actually used half the queues under that big tent.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

^America Eagle used them all when i walked by, i couldn't believe it. I was there without a fastpass, but i still had a good time. I got on all three haunted houses, 2 rides, and 2 coasters. You just had to pick a line and wait. Otherwise you would have never gotten on anything.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! Even when I worked there, in the best of weather, on a Saturday, in July.....I NEVER SAW SO MANY FREAKING PEOPLE at GA. I wanted a cattle prod just to get through the crowd, especially the group of 50 sissies, who see a troll, stop and then run right into you. The line for Bull streched out to nearly the Hurricane Harbor entrance, and Viper's streched out underneath the train bridge and out into County fair. Batman actually used overflow 2 which I personally haven't seen since they built V2. Heck the line for most of the flats was at least 45 mins. Thank God my friend Jesse kept his fast lane coupon from the season pass book......if not for that, we wouldn't have gotten to do much. All in all, with the crowd, I got to ride; Bull twice(once early enough that the line was shorter, and one with a fast lane), Superman, V2 (which btw, I am no longer beaten by a coaster!!!!!!!!), Eagle, Batman, Demon, and Chubasco/Terror Twister. Spent some time in the Necropolis and saw the freak show, but mostly fought the urge to just pushing random people outta my way. Man, I shoulda went today.
