This is what I think about the whole age limit idea... There's a sign on the enterance to Necropolis. And it says "This area is not reccomended for children under 12." If children under 12 go in, and get scared, guess what? It's NOT SFGAm's problem. They chose to disobey the sign, so if they get scared so what? I understand this is a family park. But Necro isn't a family area, and there's a sign stating it on the enterance. So, my point is, if they raised the age requirment, people still won't care, and disobey it anyway. So keep Bad Santa, and Woosies, go somewhere else!!!

All right, one thing I've noticed is that I'm arguing with a bunch of Fright Fest junkies. Of course you want Santa to stay. But are Santa and the "hoe hoes" really appropriate for a 12 year old? da rcman2001, you can't compare Fright Fest to Universal because, like you said, Universal is targeting teens and young adults, whereas Six Flags is targeting 12 year olds. It all boils down to this: those of you that say this is all appropriate and Santa and his hoes should stay, you are saying that Santa and his hoes are completely appropriate for a 12 year old (5th grader in Illinois). If you still agree with that statement, that's fine and I respect your opinion, but I know that 5th graders should not be subjected to this type of material (as many of them haven't even had basic middle school sex education at this point).

See my only problem bad santa is that...some people don't like him. I ahve heard many complaints, and also have heard people complain to guest relations, so I'm thinking it wasn't a good move for SFGAm.

Okay im not even going to check the halloween horror nights website because it isnt even worth it but Im pretty sure all it says is that this event may be too intense for young children. And BTW, a 10 year old is a 5th grader. A 12 year old is in 7th grade, one year away from 'teens" even though the life of a 13 year old and a high school student are completely different. But anyway I think a 7th grader can handle what they see in Necropolis; it isnt nearly as bad as the porn they start to watch and the stuff they start to see in movies. Again: all you soccer moms who are to dumb to read and understand signs outside of necropolis and insist on bringing your 7 year olds in, it is your fault if they meet bad santa. And all of you politically correct pussies, give it up. By b****ing and moaning all you are doing is ruining the fun for people who go in necropolis to watch the freak show, see captain nasty drink disgusting stuff, get scared, and meet santa and his drunken whores.

I think what this all boils down to and the only way this situation will change is if Six Flags makes descision about the marketing of their halloween event, or change the content in it. If six flags would stop trying to market a scary/rated R event as a family friendly event with little kids in costumes hugging bugs bunny in commercials or mr. six dancing or whatever quere stuff they can come up with that only causes problems inside the park when families encounter stuff that isnt all hugs and kisses and pumpkin carving, then after a couple years we wouldnt have this situation. People would stop complaining after they take a hint, and Six Flags would get away with more stuff.

Another idea I have come up with is a family friendly event during the day where there are still characters like they do now, and then at night, somehow or another let the park guests know that after dark things get scary and the nighttime event isnt intended for children, and then they could go all out. Trolls wouldnt have to be nice and pose for pictures anymore; families who complain will only sound stupid. I dont know for sure but I think that differenciating the event will help because the daytime will apeal to families and people who like rides and getting scared, while the nighttime will appeal to people who like rides and getting scared.

Which only goes to prove my point: that Horror Nights are for older teens, while Necropolis is for 12 year old children.

And BTW, a 10 year old is a 5th grader. A 12 year old is in 7th grade, one year away from 'teens" even though the life of a 13 year old and a high school student are completely different.

You turn 16 sophomore year (that's when you get your license), 15 freshman year, 14 in 8th grade, 13 in 7th grade, 12 in 6th grade. My bad. Those would be 6th graders.

But anyway I think a 7th grader can handle what they see in Necropolis; it isnt nearly as bad as the porn they start to watch and the stuff they start to see in movies.

You just "think" a 7th grader can handle what they see in Necropolis? You sound doubtful in that statement, like it's taking some sort of risk to let a 12 year old into Necropolis. You should definately know in this type of situation.

All right, so just because everyone sees porn it's all right? Is porn all right...I honestly hope you either change your opinion or never raise kids because you'd do a horrible job...I am speechless. You are obviously still not over your "porn-high" and hormones if you think we should all go waving porn in front of 12 year olds, because, what the heck, they see it anyways.

I agree with you, there is no reason a 7 year old should be in Necropolis. We are not arguing over whether a 7 year old should be in Necropolis. We are arguing over whether 12 years old is too young for Necropolis (which in my opinion it is). Oh, by the way, all of you that use phrases like "the rest of you wussies" or "politically correct pussies" are only bringing out your low level of maturity.

People would stop complaining, Six Flags would get away with more stuff.

There is still plenty of things for families and young children, that's why they should keep Necropolis. There's no doubt about that. The event is not rated R if it is for children 12 and up. Calling Six Flags queer is only once again bringing out your low level of maturity (especially when you practically worship them for bring you Necropolis). Six Flags shouldn't have to "get away with stuff". If they have attractions that are properly advertised there will be no problem at all.

Not to sound blunt, but this would never work. Six Flags would never drive guests out on purpose. It would be a horrible business decision. The problem is, you're only thinking about the 13-25 age group. I am sick of our park turning into a babysitter for teens. Parents spend the $70 to get their kid a season pass, they hang out there but don't spend one cent on food because it's too expensive. Then they complain that we don't have enough roller coasters or a 400 ft. giga with 7 inversions. (Sorry, that last part was out on a tangent. :o )

Its a Fright Fest thread, its a SFGAM forum. That's like going into the LAFF thread and saying laff sucks, that's like going onto this website and starting a topic called, "Why __(insert park name here)____ is better than sfgam"

But are Santa and the "hoe hoes" really appropriate for a 12 year old

Six Flags is targeting 12 year olds

If the topic of your argument is specifically 12 year olds, which it seems to be at the moment, you need to realize that many of the folks on this site are around that age. People lie about their age to get onto places like this. Do you really think Six Flags is targeting 12 year olds, just 12 year olds, and no one else? If they were targeting 12 year olds why would they make a sign telling 12 year olds to go away?

Ok, so I know that that was an unnecessary thing to say, but you've been picking apart everyone's arguments in a similar fashion and I wanted to make sure you realized how stupid you've sounded in some of what you've said.

You have a valid argument man, make it come across as such. I just personally think that you've said enough, and that everyone that keeps attacking you is just reitering what at least five other people have said already.

ENOUGH GUYS! We get the point, bad santa=controversy, take a poll or something, but if you're going to argue have a new point each time.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

The topic of this arguement has always been that Santa and his hoes are inappropriate for a family park. Six Flags states that content in Necropolis is not suitable for children under 12. So, basically, it is suitable for children 12 and older. In my opinion, 12 years old is too young to be hanging around with "hoes", even if it is just a joke. They are targeting a whole range of ages, however, the youngest age targeted for Necropolis is 12 years old, so I am arguing that 12 is too young. (It would be stupid to argue that 16 is too young if 12 is the youngest age. Kind of hard to explain but hopefully that makes sense. :) ) The only reason I am keeping this up is because, like you said, 5 people will come back repeating each other saying stuff like "all the wussies" blah, blah, blah. For those of you who tell me to just "GIVE IT UP!", you're only making me go on. :) Enjoy.

ok, id like to point out the large sign at the gates of necropolis that clearly state a rating of R or NC-17, sorry, i forget which one it is, but either way if yer not at least 17 YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN THE AREA. unfortunatly there is noone at the necropolis gate to regulate who enters and who doesnt, therefore the amount of HR complaints from parents upset at what their children just witnessed keep rolling in. just because you are there with yer 10 year old, doesnt suddenly turn the rating to a G. if you are there, be prepared for the worst. its rated for a reason.

as far as you being called names by the elves, god, grow up. it is not illegal to call people names, especially considering the rating of the area. if it was, considering im a troll (you ever hear what we are called on a regular basis? alot worse than perv or lez, not to mention the endless threats of physical violence) id be a rich man, because id be sueing everyone. so, you were called names, and if they offended you, then job well done. thats what they are there for. and if yer under 17, why were you there? and did you say anything to instigate any insults? or where you the innocent victim, singled out for no reason? the truth may never be known.

would you like some cheese with your whine?

I didn't say they shouldn't change the age requirment, but let's say they made it 16. Well, 12 year-olds would be going in there anyway. People don't listen.

And there's no way they could make a mandatory requirment. You mean to tell me that they would hire people to stand outside of Necro and check for proof of age? Give me a break! I know you've said in another thread "Ask your parents to work at Six Flags and see what they say." Yeah, exactly. SF can't afford employees to make sure that 12 year olds don't see Santa.

Hey man, as long as you keep coming up with that valid argument, and explaining it right ^^, go ahead and keep going. That was aimed at everyone, mainly the fifty or so people who have said things like:

one of her kids was crying because she still belived in santa, and then screamed about how it's a family place. I just walked up to her and said "That's why they have signs that tell you not to bring in children under 12" She shut up after that...

Not to be rude or anything, but why are people so stupid? If the sign says "Don not bring children under 12 in" then listen to the sign and don't do it... *sigh* Rolling Eyes

People need to stop complaining, yes its a family park but when its Fright Fest and theres warning signs saying this area is not meant for children under 12, then dont go!!!

If people can't read SIGNS, they shouldn't be REPRODUCING.

It's pretty simple: There are GIGANTIC SIGNS posted at the entrance to Necropolis designating it as a very scary attraction. If you still go in, you have ZERO room to complain about being offended by what's inside. They don't put those signs there for the heck of it. Think of them like the "You must be this tall to ride" signs at the beginning of the coaster queue...Only instead of a height requirement, it's a maturity requirement.

As mentioned above, read signs and take heed to a little common sense. And it really isn't so common anymore.

If I recall correctly, there is a sign in front of Necropolis's entrance stating, "RATED R, not intended for children"

okay, twix, something you may have missed: its rated R for "really frightful" not movie ratings, and the sign does specify "really frightful" therefore people may abide to the age limit.

There's a sign on the enterance to Necropolis. And it says "This area is not reccomended for children under 12."

ok, id like to point out the large sign at the gates of necropolis that clearly state a rating of R or NC-17, sorry, i forget which one it is, but either way if yer not at least 17 YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN THE AREA.

I think that's all of 'em, well, most of 'em. There were a few I left out because they made valid points in regards to the sign... But um, yeah, did you read that folks? Did you see your post up there? I think we know that there is a sign. Wait? Isn't there a sign? There is a sign right? Yeah, remember that sign. ok ok, i'm done with the sarcasm for now...

I personally don't really have a side on this argument, I just wanted to make sure you people really understand how stupid you sound. Twix, hang in there, you've been doin' well.

No one has yet answered me if they were similarly offended by the "Mistress of Fright Fest" character I posted about.

Anyway, it is obvious that there are two sides about Santa. I'd like to know, from those that are disturbed by Bad Santa and the Hoes, what irks you the most:

Is it the smoking and drinking?

Is it the bawdy behavior?

Would the Santa character be more acceptable without the 'elves'?

Is it because he is a dead Santa?

Is it just the banter and mudslinging that gets you the most?

What I find a little disturbing is that 12 yr olds, or 16 yr olds and such who are old enough to handle the Mausoleum Of Terror, have to walk through the Necropolis to get there. They shouldn't be subjected to Santa's Hoe Hoe Hoe's humping him. Even as an adult I find that somewhat offensive. But it's nothing to be complaining about. Halloween is a pagan holiday.
So long as the characters don't touch me, they can say, or do whatever they want, you can always walk away from it.

This arguing over what the characters are doing and saying is very pointless. Bottom line - if you don't like it, don't go. There are plently of people who do like it the way it is.

If characters arn't supossed to say it.. - They wouldn't say it. As for the complaints over Santa. Everyone else that I have spoke to, they love it.

My point here is not that I am offended by this. It has never been that. My point is that Santa and his hoes are inappropriate for 12 year olds. I never said damn Santa and his elves like many of you think. There is no point in repeating myself. If you dont think its appropriate for kids fine. That is why there is the sign. I know that sign has been mentioned in this thread over and over again. But I can't stress enough that if people read that sign and listened to what it said.. there wouldnt be these complaints. Necropolis ISN'T for kids.. Never was and never will be!!! Necropolis is for older kids who want to see things that will make them puke, piss their pants, run away crying, AND stuff that will make them die laughing *Santa!*

Why should our idea of fright fest be cut down because some kids and parents cant read a sign?? Thats not right.. its down right pathetic. I LOVE fright fest this year and I wouldn't change it for a thing.

You're not getting it. I will say it again. 12 YEARS OLD IS TOO YOUNG TO BE JOKING ABOUT HOES! I know there is a sign. I am arguing that 12 years old is too young. The minimum suggested age should be raised with a more specific warning about what is inside. It's no secret that there is a Santa inside, so why does the sign not mention it? Thank you for only reinforcing what I have said, that Necropolis isn't for kids. Anyone who disagrees with me (Beef) is the one that is keeping this arguement going; I merely posted my opinion and got trampled for it.

I never said you couldn't state your opinion. but keyword in what you just said.. ITS A JOKE!! Do you not see what kids 12 and YOUNGER are watching now-a-days.. They watch movies where people cuss every 2 minutes, and kill people in some very graphic ways. Why don't you go cry to the producer about that one. You don't.. and why not? because no one is forcing you to sit down and watch those movies. Are they? So are we forcing you to stand there and watch santa and the hoe hoe hoes? No.. we most definatly are not. Just like we aren't forcing you to stop and watch the Side Show.

As I said before.. Im not cutting down your opinions. Im just giving you simple fact back.

As for listing whats inside on the sign..

The list would be VERY long.. and pointless.. No one bothers to read the sign anyway.

At 12 years old, you don't understand that it is a joke. I know what kids are watching nowadays, and trust me, that's not all kids. And just because they are watching it doesn't make it right, as you seem to think it does. I don't go and cry to the producer about movies inapprpriate for children because MOVIES HAVE RATINGS! THEY ARE RATED BY THE MPAA! THEY HAVE SUFFICIENT WARNING AND PARENTS UNDERSTAND THE GUIDELINES! I apologize for shouting but I don't understand why most of you are not getting this. It's not a matter of being forced to watch something. The arguement is that 12 years old is too young to be joking about hoes. Not about the 12 year olds being forced to watch Santa. If they choose to do so, fine, I was never against that. My point for all three pages so far is that Santa is NOT a child attraction (as it is advertised specifically for 12 years old and above) and should not be advertised as such. EDIT: Some of you are jumping to conclusions and assuming things I never said.

What are you talking about putting lists on the sign? You obviously did not read one of my previous posts. It stated: "Rated PG-13. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Contains violence and mild sexual references. For more information, please see any cast member or visit Guest Relations in the front of the park." Next time, don't start an arguement without reading what's been posted before it.

Hey Ruk! I thought the Mistress of FF was pretty darn hot! She didn't offen me, but my girlfriend, well that's different..lol. I think the peeps that are whining and moaning about the Santa thing need to get a life and grow up. My god people! There are MORE important things to worry about than some character in a theme park at Halloween. It's a fun time of the year that brings people together at parties and such. Ruk, man you rock!
