I miss that ride so much, it was the first ride I had ever done. That thing was awsome, no where near worth superman. Any one who says it was bumby and it hurt, i say superman is no bumbyer now. It only hurt in that one cornor, best damn ride ever created.

Being the last person to ride it was truley a amazing experience, so give it up for the blue car, the last one to compleat the circut with people on it!

I rode the coaster the last run of the day in on one saturday in july, i returned the next day on the sunday, and it was cloased. Then from there it was "down for matinence" Never opened again after that saturday, and it was just so that i rode the last train of that day. GO BLUE TRAIN!

Its gone, go ride GASM if you miss it so much, why do you guys hate SUF so dearly? I mean I wish it did have more to it but it enhances the feeling of flight and is a great ride!

...And yes SHOCKWAVE was rough and a good ride but too many people complained and it hurt. That was my first big coaster so Ill always remember it but it needed to go. It is a shame it went to wate though. I have mixed feelings...but since its gone, no need to think about it.

i dont see why they could of just "refirbished" it like they did to condor and whizzer, then everyone could be happy :D

but i still miss it, i only got on it once  , i like S:UF but its not worht the wait it always has, i mean ill wait 2 and a half hours the first time, but after that, no more than 45 min for me

Refurbishing it would be a waste of money. Again, as said many times here, Shockwave had very low ridership and that's why it was scrapped.

I agree that suf would be a better use of space if they would have added more features to it. I jut think its sad that a 14 year old gets chopped up and a 35 year old ride survives. Go figure.

The log flumes usually close at the end of the season because it's too cold and sometimes the boats are used for FF.

And yes, the Shockwave piece is in a shed.

Shockwave ended up not being relocated as it was seen as a liability. Mainly due to the turn up into the blocks and what that turn would do to the trains, and having that turn redesigned, manufactured, and incorperated into it would have cost more than what the ride was really worth to Six Flags.

It caused stress fractures in the steel of the axles....very much money taken to maintain the trains. It also caused many people to black out, occasionally myself included. All in all the ride was getting on in years as well, and since the design stunk money/maitenance wise, it was scrapped. I miss the ride(as much as a former employee of it can), but investment wise S:UF was a better choice. Shockwaves lines were always short, ergo it didn't draw people to the park, I remember on most nights I worked there, the line for Shockwave always dwindled down to practically no body by 6:30, while other coasters lines would take until well after closing to go through the line of people. Except on the busiest days, but even then, we were the first coaster out of the park. We would get through our line by 11:00, and the other coasters went until nearly midnight.
Welcome to ShockWave please pull your harness down as far as it will go. While riding ShockWave please keep your hands and feet inside the car, and your head against the headrest, please hold on to all loose articles, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride!
