Which side of the sound booth. Becuase I was sitting on the side close to the parade doors, right in that dent in the fence.

BTW: After seeing the show again today I have to rebuttel my rebuttel. (I have no idea If I spelled that right) I guess it's okay, but I have seen better years. I really hate that moment where the clothes fall down, I think they should have just dropped the green plaid, not Josh's clothes from last year. (I like Josh as Igor) I think the frankie-showtune moment is very awkward and I dislike many aspects of this year show. Altough I am still in favor of the three-way beast and the Zombina, although I don't see why she was necesary, and wouldn't be surprised if she was dropped in later years. So all in all I have to give this year's LAFF a negutive reveiw.

I have to say I only noticed two significant jokes this year. The Napolean Dynamite-esque "Gosh" and the "The tribe has spoken" at the end.

I saw LAFF today and wasn't very impressed at all. The cast was okay, but it's been better in past years. Things like this are supposed to get better, not worse, as they get older.

I've noticed that they've been changing it a lot over the past three days. So It'll be interesting to see it again at the end.

LAFFfan4lyfe, you never answered my question.

Let me start by saying that I have not seen LAFF yet this year, but with good reason.

Not only have most you basically said that it sucks, but because it just started and sometimes shows take some time to get into the groove.

How long have they been rehearsing for?
Sometimes if you rehearse too much a show dies and the actors get bored with it.
But if they've only been a cast for a short period of time they're not going to be that good yet. It takes some time to get the bugs out.

(trust me, I've been doing theatre basically all my life, theatre is my life)

Alright...It seems to me that you all are being really harsh on the show this year, and the only reason is because it isn't as funny as last years show. That hardly seems fair. Yes I will agree that last year's show was much funnier, but the show cannot be the same year to year, what is the fun in that.

Now before I go any further let me just say that I have indeed seen the show this year as well. And I think there is a lot of energy in the cast and you can tell that they are having a good time. I also think that they all sound amazing, the choreography is sharp and the costumes are awesome! It may not be as hilarious as last year but it is still as high a quality show as you will find in an Amusement Park.

To defend the humor, the show (from what I have seen over the years) contains a lot of Topical Humor. Look at what has been in the news this year; war, floods, politics....not much you can joke about really.

You all claim to be such fans of the show, but it seems to me that you have picked a favorite season and now are judging all others based on that...you can't do that. This show will have its ups and downs...was there really nothing you liked about the show? No one particular character, no one particular interaction between characters? No nothing? Then perhaps you just aren't giving the show a chance at all. Wipe away any preconcieved notions from last year. This is not last years show!

And let's look at things from the performers' point of view...there are 8 returning cast members from last year, only 2 of which are in the same roles as before (Wolfie and Drac)...that has got to be weird for them! That automatically changes how the whole show will work and necessitates a different show.

Then there are things that I think are worth getting excited about and that we all should feel lucky we get to see:
1. The re-emergence of a characther that has been gone for I think a Decade...Zombina.
2. A famale Frankenstein (the first one EVER in Six Flags history)!
3. All new costumes for the female monsters in the cast!
4. The fact that some of the characters go out to see the people and promote between shows.

So all in all I think there are plenty of reasons to see the show this year...and yes the show usually shapeshifts as the season goes on so who knows what will happen. Just give it a chance. Last year's show did have a lot going for it, but so does this one...you just gotta find new things and quit dwelling in the past.

voice, i have plenty of things besides what i've already said for my reasons for not liking the show this year. I'm simply not saying them because I'm positive that several of them read or post on this thread, and I don't feel like hurting too many people's feelings. You're probably part of the cast, which is why you feel you have to defend the show, and know so much about it, so if you'd like to have a little discussion about why i don't like the show, you can contact me, and you can find out why.

In my humble opinion, this year's LAFF is a sumptuous feast for all senses. It really just makes me want to sit back and enjoy a big bag of delicious Orville Redenbocker popcorn. I wasn't expecting a celebrity appearance at all when I went to see the show this weekend, but sure enough, you just might recognize one of the cast members from quite a popular telivision program! That's right, ladies and gentlemen. This year, Dracula is being played by B. Arthur of The Golden Girls. It really doesn't get any better than that. Everyone had great voices...I especially found Jack's to be quite an "herbal experience". Personally, I miss certain aspects of last year's show, but I'm probably a little biased. Incidentally, props to all my Beckys in the house. There certainly do seem to be a lot of them. But then again, it's a theme park. (just a little inside joke) The girl who plays Witchie and I are going on a kayaking adventure either this week or next week. We're pretty much besties. At any rate, I love the show and everyone in the cast. A HOO BOO BOO BOO BOOOOOO

i really love what the LAFF junkie has to say, there is alot of crazy funness in the show...has anyone noticed how frankies head goes from super big to almost half the size one year to the next? i find it amusing. besides that i listen to the show quite frequently as i havent found time to see the entire production yet ive had the oppurtunity to see the cast doing promotional walks before every show and i love it. their costumes are really hott and the characters fit everyone so well. ive tried to think of jokes that they could throw into the show this year and it just doesnt work seeing as everything these days is offensive or politically incorrect. but as a closing note has anyone been sprayed by igore's face yet? its kinda sick.

I saw LAFF this weekend and loved the show!! I was amazed by the performance not only the performers but also by the quality technical performance! Does anybody know where they get their technicians from? Are they union and hired for the show or are they park employees? Also does anybody know how many technicians their are involved in the show cause there seemed to be alot going on throughout the show!! Any answers would be great! Im very interested in the show and am interested in getting involved!! IF anybody knows any of the technicians and could help me talk to them i would love to find out more!! Anything would help!!

Thanks

I'm fairly sure that during showtime there are six tech people backstage. Either six or eight, I'm not sure. I know there's three in the lighting booth, on in the sound booth, and I beleive either two or four backstage. I think it's two for this, but it was four for circo. Yes they are park-hired. And work for the park pretty much year round.

Having seen LAFF in the past, from what I remember of the set it doesn't take that many people to run crew for it. four backstage sounds about right to me. Two SR, two SL. As for the rest of the crew it'd make sense to have spot light opts for however many spots they're using, a Lightboard opt and soundboard opt, Stage Manager and Assistant Stage Manager. Thats probably all they have for that show, but its just speculation, and its just running crew, there's probably a few people for costumes and make-up as well.

BOOOboooBOOOhoooBOoooBOOO...
Hmmm....what to say about this years LAFF? I'd have to say that it is amazing. The singing rocks my socks and the costumes are amazing! I love all of the characters...but for some reason...I feel like I have this special connection with Katie. I mean...I love to wear red...and so does she....I love the song I NEED A HERO...so does she...She sings very well by the way! ALONG WITH EVERYONE in the cast of course....But seriously what's up with WITCHIE...she looks sooo familiar....like last years Witchie....but different....hmmmm....I'd have to agree that Jack's voice this year is very...HERBAL...and for some reason i always think of an EASY bake oven when I see him...or...the song EASY to be hard....i donno....I always want to eat EASY mac....or think of the NOVEMBER Nights...of ease....(???WTF?????) and Wolfie...the way he HOWLS makes my heart jump! (but i do have to say...it looks like he has split ends a little...but totally cute!) Is he single? JK I love FRANKIE this year...or should I say FRANKETTE! Totally awesome! It seems like Frank the Tank sings with such ease!
well anywho....thats what I love about the show! I know it's random but whatever!

wow....katieluver sounds a little crazaaaaaaay. I guess it's EASY to get carried away when you're so in love with a show like LAFF. At any rate, I'm going to see the show this saturday...maybe I can find a way to convince the cast into letting me meet them! They all seem so cool and elite, and to be honest, I'm a little intimidated by all of them. They're all such huge stars! I could never dream of performing at six flags like they do, mostly because I have a hard time changing in front of people without a certain special someone singing my theme song (to the tune of a clock chiming). Oh, and I heard a rumor that the guys who play Igor and Jack are actually dating, which I thought was really cute.

i can tell you the jack and igor thing isn't true, and good luck on trying to meet the cast. we tried that last year, and we weren't allowed.

YEAH! Hanging out with the cast is super amazing. They are all really nice and down to earth. They even invited me to go out to Applebee's after their last show one time. And I think that's why I love Katie so much. We bonded by telling secrets!! Apparently, Applebee's is their place to go out afterwards (incase anyone is interested)!
