The music you chose was not what I would call "appropriate" for the subject.

When producing a video like this you have to relies that the music that is playing in the park is to set a mood. Unless you can effectively create the same mood using both footage and music you will almost surely fail.

When i make fright fest productions I intentionally dismiss any music that they have in the park because it is almost impossible to set the mood of a video using the music alone.

You have to use transitions, angles, lighting, pans, zooms, and the speed of all of them to create your production, the music bed is to make your mood bolder. Once you have your music bed then go to work timing transitions, pans, and zooms, to the beats of the music.

I wouldn’t of muted all of the sound in those video clips, I would of taken the hisses of the creatures and the screams of the people and added them to the music bed, that would of created a freaky mood and you may of walked a way with a successful production. But I cant say this is the best I have seen, nor can I say its the worst. It was just mediocre

If any of you wish to view my fright fest production please PM me and i will e-mail it to you. It is the 2004 edition, the 2005 edition will be released at the end of the month.

^ Thank you Mr. Spielberg. I am not trying to win an academy award here. This is the first video I have ever done, and I was just playing around to see what I could do. I will learn by doing, and learn from my mistakes. I am going to take your advice with my next video, fright fest from 1999, and see what I come up with. I will also look at your video to see what you have come up with, and see what I can learn from that.

In case nobody has been to FF yet, they do not play the Michael Myers theme anymore.

Well the got the soundtracks to the other movies which i think there are 6 off, so there is more varriations. Maybe the creator of this video should look for different variations of the theme, so it makes it a little more workable.

I liked the video... It gives a good feel for what Fright Fest is about, which is what matters the most. Unlike others, I wasn't expecting "American Beauty"-esque cinematography and sound mixing. :D

If you are referring to the pumpkin colored guy in the video, this is the one part I should have left the orginal audio intact. When he lurches towards that little kid, he is saying "hi" , and not "boo".
The characters were extremly cool with my 4 four old daughter, and 1 1/2 year old son. My daughter had just been sprinkled with "fairy dust" by one of the girls in Looney Tunes Forest. Later that day, one of the characters came up to her, and she was scared somewhat, and he told her "don't worry, I cannot hurt you. You are covered in fairy dust. Thats cool. Can I have some of that fairy dust?" They were given high fives to my son. They were the best, and this year has to be one of the best FF they have done.

Nice video....
I like all the clips you included, as far as arrogent people giving you tips and advice.... Don't worry about it dude. I enjoyed the video, because since I haven't visited yet, ALL I wanted to see were clips from the park (scenery, props, etc...)

Your video depicted exactly what I wanted to see... Great job!
If you so feel the need to add lighting and special effects, then do so when you've mastered the programs.... Until then, keep doing what you're doing, an awesome job!

Nice! I loved the music in the background the entire time. I liked the clips of area 51 and seven sins....I went yesterday and arent those cool additions to FrightFest this year? Area 51 had really decked out theming and the werewolves were cool, they can move pretty fast on those stilt like things cant they?

good video :D

Thanks everybody for the positive feedback. Hopefully when I pick up a new VCR this weekend, I will be able to start working on the FF 1999 video.
