Hey everyone! I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. Ok I live approximately 3 hours west of the park. I usually stay above the IL/WI line and then come down on I-94. However, some heavy road construction is taking place on my normal route and I hear it will add 30-40 minutes to my driving time. I figure I'll be better off staying below the IL/WI line this time around, and probably until that construction is finished. I plan on eventually being on Route 21 North heading toward the park. I originally planned on staying on it and then getting on Route 132/Grand Avenue west and taking a left into the park, but while I was planning the trip on MapQuest I noticed the 2 roads that run south from the park. My question is are these entrances or exits only? Could I take a left off of Route 21 North onto this Great America road and enter the park this way or not? Could I get on Washington Street and then take a right onto Six Flags drive and enter the park this way or not? I remember some years ago entering the park from the rear and driving under the American Eagle but I heard that this entrance has since been closed or was at least closed for a time after I used it. Basically what I'd like is some information regarding the different entrances and how they pertain to where I like to park (first row behind the handicapped spots right in front of the turnstiles and Superman:Ultimate Flight). Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Route 21 will take you right to Grand Ave. There will be a BP gas station on the right, and once you get to Grand Ave, you take a left onto Grand and follow it down until you see the Six Flags sign, and take a left, it should be the next light.

There is now 2 entrances into the park, one for guests and one for employees. The guests of the park can only park by going to Grand Ave, the employees though go to the employee parking lot. So there is really only 1 way to get into the park for parking and all booths will lead to the front if the front lot is still open.

Grand Avenue is a full clover-leaf. Route 21 has entrances and exits towards/from the north only. Route 120 has entrances and exits towards/from the south only. There is access from all directions (not a cloverleaf shape, though) between Route 120 and Route 21.

Ok, so my answer would be that I cannot enter the park through these 2 roads that run south from the park. Is that what you guys are telling me? My second question would be can I LEAVE the park at the end of the day through one of these? Thanks again. :)

You CANNOT enter the park through Great America road or Six Flags PKWY from 21 or Washington. You cannot exit from them either. The only way in is off of Grand Avenue. GA Road on 21 is from employees only. So, you wouldn't get very far past security. You will have to exit onto Grand Avenue when you leave the park. It can be a pain, but that's just driving for you.

You do not HAVE to exit the park to Grand Ave, you can to Washington St, they allow exiting out that way at night on busier days.

Alright thanks everyone. I appreciate the info. I just wanted the information for sure ahead of time so when it actually comes down to it I won't be going, "Now wait a minute, where am I going? Am I going to remember how to get out of here this way?" Alright I'll put down in the planner, 21 North to 132/Grand Avenue West (left turn) and then a left turn into the park as usual. Thanks again! :)
