So close to off season

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby sfgam05 on September 24th, 2005, 6:52 pm
To think that SFGAm will be be closed in a little over a month. What will we coasters lovers do in this time, probably talk about rumors and such. I wish sfgam could stay open year round but i know thats not a possibility. Oh well, we will have to wait patiently for 06 season. What do you guys think of this?
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

And I thought I hated the word 'McDonald's'!

I have a list of other [clean] words that will get on my nerves:

Shovel; Drift; Ice; Blizzard; Plow; Cold; Bitter; Boots; Snow (aargh); Wind; Chill.

This is just a sample. And I have some new ones added this year: High; Heating; Oil; Prices.

Do you notice this is all winter-related humor? That's what gives you the offseason blues.

I had fun at SFMM.

Obviously I don't think any of us enjoy the offseason as much as the summer. Reasons are pretty obvious why.

I hate the offseason, but in a way I sort of like it. It's always fun to hear about new rides coming to parks and seeing construction, and always guessing on what ride might be coming to SFGAm. It also makes opening day that much more exciting, and it gives you something to look forward to.

^ Yeah, I agree. This offseason probably won't bother me as much as before, because nowadays I don't pay as much attention to SFGAm as I used to, I've got a lot more going on in my life. Not saying I've lost interest, maybe just the fact that I am lazy.

I barely went at all this summer... I had to go to summer school for atleast half of it...

Last year's offseason went by a little faster for me because i was in the spring musical. Having opratice every day after school from January-March... you8 tend to forget its the offseaason.

Hop on a plane and head to Orlando, problem solved (though this will be the first year in probably 5-6 that I wont be able to do that due to my hugely expensive upcoming euro trip)

I will travel to warmer climates to get my coaster fix! SoCal in March no Thanksgiving weekend again this year. Maybe that weekend will call for Florida this year or over x-mas.

Lately, I've only gone once a year, if that. Believe me, I WANT to go more....I totally envy you people that can go more than that.....but yeah, the off season can be long...imagine if you can't go at all for a couple years....and then you do go and the 2 freaking best coasters in the park are closed? And when they are open, your friends are a bunch of chickens who refuse to go on them, drag you on every single water ride, even though it's starting to get cold bcz the sun is starting to go down, then tell you they want to go home because they are now freezing, thanks to stading on the bridge at Splash freaking water falls!

Ok, so I will shut up now....sorry for the vent!

Something to add to my post up above, lately I've seen alot of RT tickets to Florida for under $100, even on the "premium" airlines like AA and Northwest, if anyone does plan on going, now is the time to buy (though alot of those sales last for a day or 2, or even just a few hours, gotta keep checking frequently)

ATA right now is offering one-way tickets to Sarasota Fl. for $44.

While it's not right near the amusement parks, you can enjoy a great time in that city and rent a car to Orlando or Tampa.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
