Fright Fest Zombie Jamboree

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby james on September 23rd, 2005, 8:26 pm
Hi all, my name is James and I live in Waukegan, IL just north of gurnee. Anyways, during the zombie jamboree parade there is a song called "Zombie Jamboree" that plays on their speakers. Though it is not all vocal at all like Rockapella did it. I know it has trumpet, flute, and smooth marimba rolls and possibly piano trills/rolls and I was wondering where I can get my hands on that song! I Luv it!

You Can't. Unfortunately It's a recording specifically for the park.

Yeah, the main reason why I like the song because that song is played by instruments, and i love it because of it's smooth mellow marimba rolls, and trumpet blares. The song is originally just vocal. Oh well. I'll just record it for my pleasure. lol oh well thanks anyway

I think damn is the only word taken out. I think the rest is just the same. If i can remember right from last year, it was pretty much the same except they changed damn to "Well i dont give a care, because im stone dead already"

Yea but its a little more different than those few words I believe not positive though because I was only in the parade the last day last year because I was in a haunted house last year but it is an acapella group the Kingston Trio. Love the song especially when dancing to people in a weird costume its fun stuff.

No, But I'm going so many more times this year, I'll probably see some of the special moments that everyone is always talking about.

It was a zombie jamboree
In the Six Flags Cemetary
It was a zombie jamboree
Took place in the Six Flags Cemetary

And they were singin'
Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already
Back to back, belly to belly
It's a zombie jamboree

(Zombie Queen Verse. Either SF completly messed with this one or i just can't find it)

Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already
Back to back, belly to belly
A zombie jamboree... and they were singing
Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already, oh
Back to back, belly to belly
A zombie jamboree

Hey, back to back, everybody we sing
back to back, and belly to belly, then
back to back, a one two three four, Bwa ha ha ha!

It was a Zombie Jamboree
From Times Square to the Statue of Liberty
Uptown Downtown Zombie Jamboree
...Whoa wo wo yeah yeah
There's a high wire zombie between the World Trades
A King Kong zombie on the Empire State
But the biggest zombies, Tokyo to Rome-
The zombies who call the city home.

Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already
Back to back, belly to belly
It's a zombie jamboree... and they were singing
Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already
Back to back, belly to belly
A zombie jamboree...
Back to back, belly to belly
Well I don't really care cause I'm stone dead already, oh
Back to back, belly to belly
A zombie jamboree...

(Six Flags Interlude to give monsters time to go to the trolley. Cue Mayor Slayer's Hearse.)
Reapeat as needed...

I don't know what year Rockapella recorded it, but I got a copy by the Kingston Trio off of Itunes that was recorded in 1958.

The lyrics they sang deal with the more adult situation of the singer trying to fend off the romantic advances of a zombie queen from a New York cematary.

Harry Belafonte also recorded it, and that can be found on a 2 cd set that was released in 2004 of 2 of his old LPs: "the many moods of Harry Belafonte/ Ballads, Blues, and Boasters"

The parade entertainers are mostly the same people that put on the JJJ parade during the summer (June-August).

The Characters (Bugs, Daffy, Etc..) are from the Six Flags Entertainment Department. Many of the characters in LAFF for example were in the parade. Jack, drak, wolfie, ghostina, igor, and a few others.

But, are the characters in the parade just from the entertainment department, or where they in past shows, like six flags party or jumpin jamin. Reason i ask is because i was watching them and they are really good.

The looney tunes in the ZJ are hired by Six Flags. the LAFF characters that do the pre-show are in LAFF, and are also hired by six Flags. Most of them were in shows over the summer as well.
