Official Fright Fest Thread 2005

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Binks Drake on September 21st, 2005, 7:30 pm
They won't they've already hired that vamps, clowns, and wolves.

And just to be clear (I don't want to start another fight) they added four new rides to Mardi Gras, not three.

oops you are right Binks, it is 4 I forgot the horrible Big Easy Baloons . They tore down the Gazebo (my favorite place of all time) for it. Not saying it isnt fine...but nothing could replace my beloved gazebo. I know they hired the actors...but they hired them before if I am not mistaken...it wouldnt be impossible for them to move them to alternate locations. I'm not saying I have proof it will...in fact I havent heard boo...just the blood river thing. I just have a nightmare of PC concerns trumping Fright Fest...and them backing down. But they shouldn't, couldnt and wouldn't do that...right?

Mardi Gras was not a cheap gimmick...I love the addition! What was there before, a gazebo? Nothing was removed to add it, we got a new section, who cares if more midway was added or not? It's better than what was there before. Also, I think it's one of the best themed areas in the park along with Southwest Territory. All the rides fit the theme perfectly.

What?

Anyway I actually wouldn't be upset if they moved the evil clowns or the buffy vamps to County Fair. In fact I wish the clowns would go back to revolution area.

No arguments, just want a general opinion here. I just always have thought of the Mardi Gras section as within the New Orleans Territory. Like if a portion of Yukon Territory got converted into a Gold Rush section or if Hometown Square got converted into General Store themed area.
Are you guys just saying that you think of Mardi Gras as a new territory as when they built Southwest territory? Or are you thinking of Mardi Gras as just a new section that just happens to be located by New Orleans?

They are not moving the characters out of mardi gras because of Katrina. I dont know where anyone got that idea but they are not, they would have mentioned something at casting just this past weekend after katrina happened and they didnt. becuase its not changing however the blood river thing i dont know anything about because that is up to six flags. And all i can say now is that I am so excited for fright fest and everyone better be there. so i can scare all of you hehehe. yay!!!

I didn't say I wanted them to move the clowns because of Katrina, I just want them to move them back to County fair for Character Spacing, instead of just packing them all in one area. Necro/Mardi/Yankee-Yukon/Orleans.

I agree with putting characters in CF, but not Yukon, I'm glad that's a kiddie area.

Drove past the park on my way to school tuesday morning on washington street, and there were people on the top of the AE helix putting the spiders up. They are all up now, of course if they were working on them 2 days ago, and tonight there were red lights on it.
