Raging Bull

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

 Okay, can someone please rate how scary Raging Bull is for a 'beginner'? I've been on Viper, American Eagle, and B:TR (and Whizzer, if that counts!) and I really want to go on the Bull but I'm really scared of heights and all that so how scary is it for someone like me on a scale of 1-10 (10 being drop-dead scary). I'm planning to go next week and I need some advice! Thanks!!

It's REALLY smooth. You don't even feel what's going on (as you would on American Eagle and Viper. All the steel coasters are smooth) You say you're scared of heights. Sit in the middle. Each car seats 4 riders at a time (along with Iron Wolf, Superman: Ultimate Flight, and Batman the Ride). I won't lie to you, the first drop is quite a "doozy" (lol) but after that you will say to your self "Oh My God. That was cool."

Rating:

First time: 8-9
Second Time: 5-6

EDIT: 500th POST!!!!!!!

^I'll second that. If you're afraid of heights I'd suggest sitting in the middle. Even so, the drop will be over rather quickly. It's the long climb up the lift that will probably be more freaky... it seems like it never ends. 8)

The back row is where the drop felling is more intense.

I'll say 2nd row as when you start to go down the drop, it goes down slowly and picks up speed as it goes down, this will make you want to try 4th, 6th , and 9th row.

Where the 9th row grabs you down at the top of lift hill.

Definately sit in the middle. I have only gone on Raging Bull once. But I have the same problem as you. I'm afraid of heights. But I LOVE roller coasters!!

^ Yeah, that feeling of getting yanked over the top of the hill down the drop is amazing.

Ill second that. You just get whipped down the little bunny hill and whipped right into the drop in the back row.

Throw your care's to the wind, and ride the front row your first time!!
You will love the ride and it will help you get over your phobia on heights.

If you've been on Batman, Raging Bull should be a breeze.

I too am afraid of heights, but I LOVE RB. If you sit in the middle seats the height factor isn't so bad. Plus your fear of heights gets trumped about half way up the lift when you begin to wonder to yourself "Are we there yet?"
Welcome to ShockWave please pull your harness down as far as it will go. While riding ShockWave please keep your hands and feet inside the car, and your head against the headrest, please hold on to all loose articles, especially hats and glasses. Enjoy your ride!

Yeah sit in the backrow.. you won't be scared at all

Just kidding! Do NOT sit in back row unless you want major airtime and it being your 1st time I don't think that you want that. OK for the 1st time going down the drop just take a DEEP breath before going down the hill and hold on because if you don't hold on you will feel what DJVG means about getting yanked going over the hill on the 1st drop and that may freak you on your 1st ride

Now 2nd ride... arms up!!

Enjoy it.. don't fear it! It's really an amazing ride :D

Ragingbull can be as scary as you make it to be. not that scary, first drop is really cool, u will love it once you ride it. I too had your problem, but not anymore.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

I put my hands up midway through the first drop on my third ride on the bull. It really isn't too scary, unless heights and airtime aren't your thing.

I put it up halfway on my first ride and kept it up foor almost the entire ride, but it was hard because of the wind. The first drop is the best! It's not scary, but fun, like Andrew said.

Aw...dont be nervous, Its the most thrilling ride in the park. If youre gonna be scared about riding something for the first time, worry about Deja Vu

Sorry if this is a little specific but...ride in the 9th row(last row) and the very left side. I say this because the ends have a great sense of freedom and youre tilted near the ground in the air twice....and then the left side basically "hugs" the ground in the end parts of the ride twice :D I also say the last row because the air feels amazing on the first drop...very tugging like! :D

I dont mean to make you more nervous, but alot of people go thinking how scary it will be and come off Raging Bull very pleased and excited, youll have fun especially in the back, left 8)

I love front too. The feeling of hanging over the edge of the hill wating for the back to to start going down is awesome.

Honestly, I've been on bull plenty of times the last seven years and that first drop still gives me that "Oh my god I'm gonna die" feeling. (Even though I know I won't)...It's like a horror movie that way!

Yeah same here. The climb to the top takes so long but once you're at the top you suddenly say to yourself "I'm going to love this ride" and then... you enter the underground tunnel.

The line is kind of intimidating your first time (or it was for me atlewast) because you have the trains dropping over you and whatnot. Bring a CD player or something to take yur mind off what is to come, when u get up to the station go in the middle if you're afraid of heights. If you still are scared once you get to the top of the hill, scream your lungs out the way down. Screaming, the fullproof method of eliminating fear.

^^ That's what happened to me, but there was like no line so i said "that's it i'm going!" and i did. the line and the lift are by far the scariest.
i'm rocking the suburbs, just like quiet riot did...

For the first time you should definetly sit in the middle. Believe it or not I don't think the first drop is the scariest part. I have to say either the second hill on the way dow is because you see the track bellow and you pick up right on top of it. Or the figure-8 is also a bit scarier because you're in an over-banked turn position and your about 2 and a half feat above the ground!

First time-8 or 9
Second-6 to 8
All the rest-5 to 7
