V2

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I don't think V2 reduced the park's capacity at all. That was DeJaVu's fault. All that was removed from V2's spot was a lighthouse that wasn't really a ride.

When I posted your sig was "Hurricane Harbor sucks" which I'm sure changed right when you read this. You also started, what 3 topics about "Hurricane Harbor Sucks!" I'm not stupid...that's your job.

well, the total ride package reduced capacity. V2 raised the capacity in Yankee Harbor, but overall with the loss of Sky Whirl, total park capacity dropped.

Hey right now it is wasted space.......if it stays broken like this for a long time and they can't fix it, they probably will tear it down, as it is costing to much time/money in maintenance. I wouldn't cry......that ride mocks me whenever I go.....so far it's the only coaster that has beaten me........and I hate that I am terrified of it. But for most of you my husband included......I hope that it's up and running soon......makes the other lines shorter too.

I wouldnt doubt if SF/SFGAm is in the process of suing Intamin, I heard the full story about the rides problems shortly after it was built. No one would believe half the stuff (cant tell it here, it'd be improper and disrespectful to the park, so dont ask)

Is there anything on there that would be dangerous to any people like for example: A restraint failing during the ride?

If a restraint fails, you still have the seat belt on the side. So, it doesn't really matter.

but what if the seatbelt snaps?

anyway that was just an example. I was trying to see if there was anything on there that would hurt and/or kill people.

I trust the restraints more than I trust the seatbelts even IF the restraits are Intamin.

So do I, especially when my seatbelt came undone on the top of Hoosier Hurricane last week  I got so freaked out, I almost didn't get it back on in time.

The only resraint I don't trust is the one on that ride in New York where the lady flew into the car windshield.

Seat belts are designed to hold many thousands of pounds. I trust the seatbelt as much as I trust the restraint.

if v2 couldnt be fixed, wouldnt it be cool if Six Flags had the tidal wave/greased lightnin thats in storage at six flags marine world reassembled in v2's spot. And just to let you know it probably will never happen so no 1 needs to freak out. Just a thought!

I say there's a possibility it could be open the next time I go, which won't be until the 18th, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Mondial restraint is by far the safest restraint in the industry, once it's down, it's not going anywhere, short of the thing shearing off it's mount (nearly impossible)

From what I've seen the past 3 or 4 weeks its gone from completely down and out of the station, to testing fully once or twice a day, to being completely down inside the station (which has been the case for over a week now).

Thats fine. Just because you hate a ride doesn't mean everyone must hate it. Also doesn't mean that it should be torn down.

^ Did I ever say that they should tear it down? I would personally prefer something else there but I do realize that a lot of people do like it.
