I don't believe you waited that long unless there was a breakdown about 6 times with rain delay in between but that is insane to wait for a ride that took up 40% of your day.
longest I've waited is about 3.5 hours for SFOG DV, though I saved it for last, rode everything else I needed/wanted to, and when I was done, then and only then could I justify waiting that length of time for a ride (this was before SFGAm's opened)
And time was important that day, I believe it was sept 14, 2001(was the very first day airplanes were allowed back in the air) and I flew to SFOG in the morn and back at night, it was for thier Farewell to Viper event. I ended up having booked the only 2 AirTran flights that flew that day.

"I've been staring at the world, waiting. All the trouble and all the pain we're facing. Too much light to be livin' in the dark. Why waste time? We only got one life. Together we can be the CHANGE. So go and let your heart burn bright"

I hope it was worth it
Hmm..lets see...got in line around 8:10pm...got thru the exit at 1:30am. So almost 6 hours.... Lots of breakdowns and a few rollbacks. Lots of fun with the people in line though. It was like a big party . I got video of it too somewhere as proof that I was there that long..Oh and I still managed to get on everything else that day too. I'm known to get thru parks very quickly, which gives me time to just blow off at night.
