I remember the line would start sometimes all the way back just before you go under the train bridge by where Power Dive was. And people would actually still wait in that line.
If you notice they still have the old entrance back ther for the ride, its right by the new stage in Mardi Graws and I've noticed the paths in back on the Jesters Wild Ride and East River Crawler still appear to be there as well.
When did you wait that long? I've never waited over 1-1/2 hours, but the times I've waited that long were: SUF, Flight of Fear (PKI), Giant Drop with full queue, AE with switchbacks in tent, Raging Bull, Dejavu, and SUF (SFOG) and didn't even get on.
I forget the exact date...early August this year. The regular lot and the overflow lot was completely filled. We had to park on this mound of dirt next to a tractor sort of behind Hurricane Harbor (I don't even know if we were supposed to park there, but we said what the hell.) And then we got there at like 4 pm. On top of that, the ride had broken down before the thunderstorm had started, they got it running, only to shut it down again because of the rain. That contributed a lot to the wait.
My longest waits had to be for both IW and B:TR the years they first opened. I can't recall the exact wait times, but they were at least 3 hrs. It's hard to remember that far back.
My Favorite SFGAm Coasters:
Raging Bull, Viper, Batman: The Ride, Iron Wolf
3hrs fo the vu. Right when we sat down they told us to leave because it was having problems.
"There should be a B.O. squad that patrols the city like a "Smell Gestapo". To sniff 'em out, strip 'em down, and wash them with a big, soapy brush..."
"Why is nice bad? What kind of a sick society are we living in when nice is bad?"
Almost 5 hours for Dragster. I waited through (2) 30 minute breakdowns, a girl puking on the ride, and a severe thunderstorm w/ a tornado in Sandusky County. Cedar Point is actually in Erie County even though it's in Sandusky.
I can recall Batman's first year the line streatched out to Shockwave entrance.
OH God yes do I remember that. Well, I don't remember it stretching that far (I am sure that it could have), but I remember the long, and I mean looooong a** lines for BTR's first year.
When The American Eagle first opened, those lines were pretty impressive as well. I remember the tent being full, and spilling out into the walkway.
As yes, to be that young again, and have the patience to wait 3-4 hrs.
Giant drop was so huge in 1997 cause it had a bigger drop than any coaster there and it was so fun to see people's faces freaking out especially the girls going up the lift and hear them screaming half up the lift and come down to see their reaction after the drop.
I saw people jumping up and down hugging the operators.
Almost 3 hours for Ragin Cajun last year. I like the ride... I really do... I just would never wait over 30 minutes for it again because the line moves way too slow.
I know I have waited more than 2 hours for more than just one ride, but I believe my longest was 2 and a half to 3 hours for The Revenge of the Mummy at USH on opening day last june, when the sign said one hour.
