Mr. Six-very expensive

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Maggie&meSFGAm? on August 23rd, 2005, 10:09 pm
I don't know how old this article is (Parade in paper on Sunday), but it says that "...his adds, part of a $72 million campaign-haven't boosted attendance."

I agree with this. HH did it for SFGAm so far this year, not explicitly Mr. Six. I think that about half of people like him, and the other half think he's annoying. Spend money on showing the actual rides instead of showing Mr. Six just dancing coming out of the bus. Unlike the previous year, they did this, this year and I think it's working.

Shouldn't Bugs Bunny be the mascot instead????? Mickey Mouse works really well for Walt Disney.

When was the last time you saw Bugs Bunny during the day hours on T.V.?

Mickey Mouse shows up alot more.

Speaking of that, I haven't seen Scooby Doo, The Flinstones, or The Jetsons on T.V. lately.

Though they could use a new song with Mr. Six....

Scooby-doo used to be on the WB recently (cartoons).
http://www.tv.com/whats-new-scooby-doo/ ... l&season=3

The second movie came out in March of 04.

The last of Flinstones was in 2000. Viva Rock Vegas

I havn't seen any Jetsons stuff since that cartoon.

I guess Mickey's latest movie was Twice Upon a Christmas.

Other than that, I don't really see any Mickey shows.

You need to get a little tike as a sibling who watches Disney Channel.

I think he has like 3-4 shows.

Cartoon network has really gone down the drain with all the new programming. I like adult swim, but replaying it all night is a little much. During the day they never show good ole Bugs Bunny anymore (I can remember June Bugs marathon and such as a child).

Agreed, Looney Tunes are being wasted thanks to Time Warner.
Sorry I need to rant on this.

Bad Idea #1: Some suit thought it would be a good idea to give Cartoon Network exclusive rights to Looney Tunes.

Which leads to:
Bad Idea 2# Time goes by since bad idea #1, execs now deside that the best way to make to new "Spongebob" is to turn over the network to new cartoons and show about 7-8 episodes per day of these horrible cartoons and hope something sticks.

Where does that leave Bugs and Company?
Bad Idea #3: Left with no home Looney Tunes are stuck on Boomerang, a obscure network that cable companys care less about. I know my area isn't the only one without it.

I have no problem with new cartoons but the current "cartoons by committee" leads to anything a little old being tossed out so they can beat you over the head with something new hoping it sticks.

Looney Tunes stopped production in the late 60s. These cartoons, all these years later are still as funny as they always have been.
I didn't know or care as a 7 year old in 1989 that some of these cartoons were older then my dad.
I really hope someone at Time Warner realizes are wasting away a great piece of their history that can still be very profitable. But I guess they'd rather put the looney tunes cash cow out to pasture in hopes of the next Spongbob.

Sorry for my little rant. Back to topic now.

Yeah, and that show sucks.

Yeah, but "accodring" to recent "polls", kids don't like that stuff anymore. All they want is action and superheros. So they came out with the Loonatics, which pretty much got bad reviews all around, which leads me to belive that if they give Looney Tunes(NO BABYS) another chance it might actually succeed among the young audience(and adults to since they grew up with those shows).

Btw, the Loonatics come out on the 5th of September. BE SURE TO WATCH!
I think Loonatics describe the producers and whoever came up with the show pretty well.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

Whenever I flip through the channels, or see the kids watching TV, it's always Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, or another Jap rip-off, or something like Teen Titans or the Kids next door. They all stink. Whatever happened to good cartoons? Loony Tunes, Ducktales, Scooby-Doo, TMNT, Tom & Jerry, etc., are nowhere to be found these days. It's highly disappointing. It's also very difficult convincing my girlfriend's 8-year old son that Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! are freaking stupid. It's got to be the dumbest crap I've ever seen.

The turtles are still on. I think Cartoon network does still show Tom and Jerry. I get sick of it because I've seen all of them. I think what Cartoon Network needs to do is to switch from one or two shows at the same time to the next.

For example, they should have Finstones, and Jetsons for a half hour each for a every day during a year. For the next year, they put Yogi Bear, and Scooby doo during that time slot. The next year after that they run Tom and Jerry, and Looney Tunes. Otherwise, when a show likes Tom & Terry runs constantly for however long, I eventually get sick of it, and it becomes like reruns to me (even though it is already).

I still think Bugs Bunny should have gotten the job for SF. Don't people know who Bugs Bunny is??

Espically if Mr. Six campaign isn't drawing in more people this year. I think his novelty factor has worn off. He isn't the same old man he used to be. All he does is dance infront of rides, Six Flags might as well go back to their old advertising campaign. I liked the commercials where there was somewhat of a story.

And 72 million is a LOT of money to spend on this.

^Duck dodgers is based on several old Looney Tunes Shorts entitled "Duck Dodgers in the twenty-forth and half century pt. 1/2/etc..."

And Looney tunes is still on for two hours in the morning every weekday on Cartoon network.

Hold on...whats the difference between Time Warner and Warner Bros. Are they the same company? Also, they said above that Looney Tunes stopped in the late 70's, but like how come like interviews with Saved by the Bell  said that they had to compete with Bugs Bunny...So were they reruns of Looney Tunes in the late 80's? I remember that Nickelodean had Looney Tunes for like a year or so in early 90's, or is that just me. But I remember June Bugs, on Cartoon Network, such as Dextars Labratory, Scooby Doo, The Flinstones, The Jetsons, all of those programings aired on Cartoon Network that dealt with Warener Bros ( I guess ). Look at Camp Cartoon Network. Oh no! Will they change Camp Cartoon Network with their new shows now? Man my generation of cartoons was the best :D
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
