I went to six flags yesterday and both the red and blue trains were checked and loaded but they let the blue train go first and after the blue train went down the drop they let the red train go out of the station instead of letting them race does anyone know why they did that and why dont they remove the swamp in the heix

In the begining of the year they were racing alot and even had checkered and green flags for the races. Now it seems like they could care less, and they haven't been racing much lately.
/\ Maybe the trims weren't working that day. Unless you know for certain why they weren't racing, don't say someone else is wrong. How do you know that they're wrong if you don't know what's right
They race when the ride ops feel like it, basically. For a while racing was a requirement (year or 2 ago) but that is no more, but for the most part, unless there is a delay on one side, they will generally race.

My only ride on AE yesterday was a race. We were in red and blue was backwards. It was damn near even until the helix in which blue was trimmed quite a bit. We were back in the station a good 10-15 seconds before blue.

^^Yes & no. From the lift it was a dead heat until the helix, then it was no longer a race. The blue train was trimmed to a crawl at the top right before the helix. We were practically getting off red by the time blue even pulled into the station.

The brakes at the top of the helix are trims, not blocks. There is a big difference between trim brakes and block brakes. If the ride had structure problems, they would trim it more, or if it was bad enough, they would add steel beams. AE isn't STE, so don't start thinking in that state of mind.
Red had three extra bunny hills, that's why they run blue backwards I'm guessing. And they should NOT put any of the red trains on blue's track, we don't wanna turn into PKI.
I posted this in another topic, but I'll post it in this one too so you don't have to go through all the pain and trouble of going to another topic. American Eagle Red is better than American Eagle Blue, when both sides are running forwards. Riding facing forwards is the classic/traditional way of riding, and therefor, the better side should run forwards. Another reason is because sixflagsguy5 and many other enthusiasts think that riding backwards is stupid and is not as thrilling as riding forwards. The last and final reason is because I said so and after riding American Eagle 62 times in my last 4 trips, I have officially decided that blue side SUCKS.
