Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
I like viper better since it seems a lot smoother than american eagle, plus there arent any brakes till the station brake run.

^It's way more fun to see where you're going.
It also makes you more nervous because you can actually see how tall the drop is when you first approach the lift hill.

Agreed. Going backwards I feel absolutely nothing. Going forward... that's where all the air is. I guess I have to get freaked out to actually feel something.

^ Me too
Isn't it funny how so many people can feel such a big difference on the same ride. I like that... it goes to show that we are all different!!

Viper is the much better coasters.
As for AE, i would tear it down and build one another wooden coaster that would be much better.

Im sure that Intamin/Gravity Group/GCI could use the space that it is occupied by AE and the tent area and build a more thrilling wooden caoster that would offer more air time/more speed for a much more entertaining ride than what AE is giving us. It has been a good ride but its time has come and gone and needs to be replaced as SFGAM doesnt have alot of unoccupied land to build on.

Am. Eagle Red Backseat is the best ride in the park. Raging Bull is second and Viper a close third.
Top 5: 1) El Toro. 2) Maverick. 3) Millenium Force. 4) Diamondback. 5) X2. Coaster Count: 167 (41 Wood, 125 Steel) @Coaster_Cole on Twitter

Let's put it this way: American Eagle > anything else at Great America American Eagle > Voyage Hades > Voyage American Eagle with brake 5 wide open > Hades

I'd pick Viper and it's not even a close competition. Then again, I also have no childhood history with the park either.

Viper is my favorite ride in the park. Amazing how intense that ride can be in such a small space. And wow, I just noticed this thread is five years old. Why are old threads getting reborn all of a sudden?
