Ive noticed MANY, MANY times. that Deja Vu conveniently Brakes right before park close. and its always the floor. and then ooo guess what, its not gonna reopen so EVERYONE GO HOME!!!!
This happened AGAIN last night right before 10 when CAD was to start. they lowered the floor, then it came up and so on about 3 more time, like it did EVERY time before around close when i would get on it, so they just asked everyone to step back into the station, and guess what. they say, o well its not gonna reopen so leave the line, the park is closed.
All im saying its, its very odd how the ride seems to break around the same time on 8 seperate visits. when the lines were very long.
and i was just guessing it was the floor because thats usually when they make us go back in line, they raise and lower the floor so many times and then oooo go back in line, and then oooo its not reopening go home.
could be a coincidence or something else, sorry for trying to state my opinion and theory
is anyone else with me? or ever noticed it? or is it just me

Six Flags employees never tell you why it broke down.
I personaly went on V2 last year and as the ride took off and went up the first spike i saw a male employeee talking to the female employee and gave her the "sorry but this ride is temporary closed" sign and as soon as the ride ended and everyone got out they closed it for 15 minutes which got me believing they stop runing on purpose. I never found out why.
I'm not saying the employees broke it, I don't know why it would break down with the ride still operating.
As far as Deja Vu, I got stuck one time coming back into the station and the flootr never raised and we were stuck for 15 minutes and instead of getting free ride pass we got free soda coupon. WHAT!!!! I threw it away.

Daniel, did you ever take an English class? Some of your posts are very hard to read.
Timmy, I think I'll go in depth on your first suggestion.
Does anybody know for sure when the mechanics get off work at Great America? Deja Vu breaks down a lot, but most of the time a mechanic is there within 5 minutes to get it up and running again. So what I am saying is that it could just be breaking down every night you are there, but there are no mechanics on duty, so they have no choice but to shut down the ride.
Also, you say it only happens when there is a long line at night, but Vu always has a long line at night, so that's probably not the reason.
Edited for grammar.

Ever think that they know whats wrong with the ride, but know it will take a long time to fix? If they don't clear the station and just leave the ride it will just be a very long line for later in the night. The crew/mechanics don't want to be at the park later than they have too. They also closed lines at 11:30 again last night. I bet they had Deja fixed by 11, but there was no point after that.

Not always true. I've been stuck on a ride twice never got an exit pass. I believe they have a set time that you would wait before you get one. Even if I did get stuck on a ride, I'm not going to make a big deal and demand exit passes. We, as enthusiasts, are at the park enough, why demand more? Selfish thing to do for something that really was in nobody's control.
Edit: What in the hell makes you think that Six Flags would pretend to break a ride? They defies every common sense buisness practice out there. That would be like me being your waiter and saying I dropped your food in the Kitchen and you have to go home. Do you think the customers I said that to would be likely to come back?

Daniel......I was talking to Brad (the one that cleared you off the ride), and he was laughing at your posts because you think the floor has anything to do with the ride being down.
I think he knows alot more about that ride than you do.
I got stuck on V2 once(Before I was working there.) and I was stuck for like 15 to 20min and I got NOTHING. I was like, "What the heck?" as I was walking off.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
#1 - Sometimes there are thing that do occur at certain times of the day only, On Gemini we will sometimes go down right at 8 PM on Blue Side only for a Discrepancy Light. As for Maintenance, by 10 PM it'd be onto 3rd Shift Maintenance, and while there are fewer of them, they would be able to fix the ride just as fast as 1st or 2nd shift would be able to.
#2 - Ride Hosts would NEVER take a ride down because they felt like it, as soon as a ride goes down, the call goes out to Maint. and the Park Operations Supervisors. I'm not sure if this part is the same at SFGAm as it is at CP, but we have to have a Maint. signature on a form saying that they approved the downtime, if you do not have that signed, your in big trouble.
#3 - Ride Again Passes- Here at CP there is no predetermined time, you can wait 30 + Minutes, and you'll just get a "Sorry for the Delay, Welcome Back." Its up to the individual supervisor to determine who gets ride agains, and who doesn't.
#4 - V2 Getting stuck for 15 minutes or so. Most likely a Automatic Ride E-Stop either by a broken light curtain or system detected anomly. Its not a big deal, just reset/retract and go.

Those can happen all the time on many rides. Consider there are two types of troubles: those that are minor and those that are major. Some major ones include: computer overheated, air pressure low, sensors detecting train moving to quickly, etc. With these, the ride will generally shut itself down knowing that it can lead to a more serious problem.
Minor troubles are simply those that a ride determines are a problem that need to be fixed but has no need for it to shut down the ride. With V2, a minor trouble could just mean that the cycle was started, the computer noticed a glitch, let the ride finish but not start again (it happens, on many rides a trouble will go off, let you unload and NOT let you start it again until it is cleared). A major trouble would probably be a brake did not raise up or something causing the ride to stop at the next available point, in this case, on the launch track.
/\ That makes sense. Going back to the electrical room overheating, there could be a "warning" zone between 85-94 degrees, and a "danger" zone 95+ degrees. So, when it hits 85 degrees, the computer notifies the operator to get everyone off before it hits the 95 degree cutoff and shuts down completely.
I have no idea if this is true, but it would make sense.
