I think Hurricane Harbor sucks!!! I think it was a waste of money and space. I hate it, hate it, hate it.
Here are my reasons:
1) None of the slides are open on time
2) Going around the lazy river once (on a yellow raft) is just stupid. You should beable to go around as many times as you like.
3) They need more food stands. It's ridiculous to wait 40 minutes to get a hot dog or what ever.
4)Renting an intertube is a stupid idea. Why waste money on an intertube that you only use for a couple hours.
5) The water is freezing. I thought the water was suppost to be heated everywhere. Not just the wave pool.
6)The lines are way to long. Why not open all the slides? I waited for Bahama Mama for an hour and a half when the Tubba Bubba (or whatever it's called) could have been running also.
7) They play rap music (Not a big reason but...)
8 ) The themeing is terrible. You would think that it is suppost to look like a hurricane just hit the water park, but it doesn't.
That's all I got now.
What do you think?
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
THATS WHY THE PARK IS ON IT'S WAY TO AN ATTENDANCE HIGH SINCE 1999. THATS WHY ALMOST EVEYRWEEKEND THERE ARE 40,000 - 45,000 GUEST AT THE PARK. YEAH THEY MADE A MISTAKE PUTTING THAT DARN WATERPARK IN.
THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST ADDED A HUGE ROLLER COASTER THAT SMALL CHILDREN CAN'T ENJOY AND FAMILES WOULDN'T RIDE, THATS HOW THEY WOULD HAVE MADE MONEY THIS YEAR, NOIT WITH THAT DARN WATERPARK WHERE THE THEMEING SUCKS.
Actually they've only hit 40,000 once this year. That was last Saturday I believe. the estimated attendance for weekends 'till the end of daily operations is about 38,000 Which is slightly over normal for weekends. Yes the park is doing very well. HH is the parks best move since Raging Bull. (That also draws a lot of attention) They are doing close to the best they've ever done. If you want a roller coaster so bad, Think about it. The Park needs money. How do they get money? Let's think...
You got to remember that Hurricane Harbor is new to the park and everything that happening right now is on a trial and error basis. I'm pretty sure that they will correct those problems next season and make Hurricane Harbor the best park there is. I wouldn't personally say that the park suck, I think that it just need room for improvement.

UGH
Yep. That's what I'm saying.

I think the lazy river is pretty darn long.. I actually want to get out most of the time.

Actually the warmest water in the park is in a slide complex (Hurricane Mountain)

Everytime I've been there (3-4 times) the slides were all open.. Except once when they were working on Wahoo Racers. But they couldn't help that. Also, you should always expect lines in a water park. I remember waiting in line for over an hour for a slide at Blizzard Beach.. (and it was raining earlier!)
Drkstarboard wrote:7) They play rap music (Not a big reason but...)
WHAT? I've never heard rap music being played there.. They play island music that goes perfect with the themeing... makes a really relaxing environment.

You're just ignorant! The themeing is EXCELLENT! When are you ever going to see palm trees in Illinois? It's awesome to lay down on your beach chair and open an eye to see a palm tree. It feels like you really are in the Bahamas sometimes (especially with the great music).
All in all... thanks to HH we've seen the highest attendance rates since 1999! This was an excellent idea and is definitely not a waste of money! Hurricane Harbor does not suck! Everytime I go there it seems like I have more and more fun.
B&MGuy29 was also being sarcastic.. If you didn't see the sarcasm in his post... I don't know what to say.
I'M IGNORANT!?!?!? Take a look at the Hurricane Harbor in California (Next to Magic Mountain), It looks like a hurricane went through it. If you think about it. The name Hurricane Harbor does sound like it should be themed the way it would look like if a hurricane struck it.
You all are acting like a bunch of babys (except for LC3). You are taking my opinion way to seriously. I don't like Hurricane Harbor. I think it sucks. Big flippin deal!!! If everybody cares about what I think, then I guess I should be the "Member Spotlight." If you are so offended by what my opinion of Hurricane Harbor is, then you have some serious problems. Grow up!!!

Drkstarboard: Yes, You are acting ignorant. Everyone who doesn't agree with you is a baby? This is the worst topic that has ever been posted, mostly because of your obviously uneducated non-contirbutions.

You grow up! You keep whining and crying over nothing! If you don't like it stop whining and just don't go! I'm just showing how ridiculous your "reasons" are. It's their first year of running a water park for crying out loud, everything's not going to be perfect.
Hurricane Harbor has reached SGFAm expectations to attendance. Why, every weekend, and sometimes weekdays, line goes outside the park not letting people in because of capacity. And you cannot blame SFGAm for having people wait in line for their food, common sense that people want to eat at the same time in lunch hour. Also you have to realize that there is not enough employees to open all the lines at the same time. SFGAm wouldnt want to make a water park that sucks they try their best to make fond memories for all families.
No matter how hard it is...Never EVER give up. The real failure is those who dont try.
Who ever said that it was supposed to look like a Hurricane went through? On the tour, Sevart said it was supposed to look like a southern Florida/Keys beach town. And the theming they did is SUPERB.
Sorry, I guess another snobby enthusiast is mad because the park isnt run the way they want it.
The one time I strolled through I heard Island music.
And again, sorry everything isn't up to your standards. I guess this is life.
I can already smell the start of a flame war in this thread, so I'll put the fire out before it starts.
