I could be wrong but if they were going to remove it look for construction markers. If they don't have them it's most likely not going to be taken down.
I think Six Flags has something planned but im sure its not involving whizzer to the parking lot! In some way Six Flags doesnt care about season pass holders because they know there not gonig to spend alot of money there but they care about familys and if a family of four come thats alot of admision prices for them. There is no other coaster for the little kids. I would love a new coaster next year because it is time but I dont think there gonig to remove a 29 year old family classic for coaster enthusists. We should all keep are fingers crost and hope for a new coaster and just wait for the press release to say New coaster. But did Whizzer ever get a new fastlane pass prosseser? And there is also no construction markers because if there was a new coaster it would be something big. Someone did tell me Whizzer was gonig and it was closing in Aug but it wont happen.
As w00dland said..there is just two piles of branches, and they are all next to the railroad tracks so people don't try and grab onto them. The branch under the brake run was removed because it could of grown up into it. It's all for safety people. They were trimming bushes by American Eagle. Oh darn..here comes the out and back floorless rocket!
Yes Whizzer got the new fastlane pass system installed on it. So i doubt it will be removed. Plus has anyone noticed that the station was repaved? Why would they do all this if they were just gonna take it down?
I'm stll saying that the park will get something big next year for it's 30th but where will they put it?........HEHE
remember it will be only the 2nd one of its kind in the US

Its the new SF-Tree trade system.
I heard that the big oak is going to Magic Mountain!
I do not think whizzer is being removed for the 2006 season. 30th or not, it’s an off year for SFGAM. I believe the only thing we will see for the 2006 season is Minor Attraction(s) and General Park Improvements.
w00dland wrote:Funny how construction is pretty far along at SFMM and SFOG, even WoF! This has been a great hoax so far though.
I still think we aren't getting anything but a Tornado...
Was Mardi Gras, D Vu', V2, SUF, and the waterpark started early??? Seriously, SF is crazy enough to give us more than a Tornado. Those rides/area that I have mentioned cost a lot of money.
In 13 years SFGAm has received BTR, V2, D Vu', RB, Chubasco, Revolution, Viper, BEB, King Chaos, RC, RR, GD, Condor???, Space Shuttle America, the outdoor ampitheatre, Camp Cartoon Network including Spacely's, Scooby-doo ride, Flinstones ride, and a ferris wheel along with refurbising the kids area Looney Tunes something. On top of that they have added a waterpark, go-karts, and the bungee thing (Dare Devil Dive). 2002 was a fluke year because D Vu' wasn't operating much in 2001.
With all of this, do you think SF will just stop with only a Tornado? I'm with B&Mguy29. Whizzer most likely is NOT going, but I think we will be getting a rollercoaster along with that Tornado. 7 rollercoasters in 13 years. That means SFGAm has gotten almost one every other year. Last year, SFGAm didn't get one.
SF supposedly contracted three B&Ms, so were in the world is the third one going?

None of those called for the removal of any substantial rides, or land clearing (except the waterpark, which DID start early.)
Vu- basically just remove a flat (something that could be done in 1-2 days) and assemble a rather compact coaster.
V2- Move a lighthouse, WOAH, im sure they were worried about getting that great engineering feat done.
S:UF- Work Also Sarted early as Shockwave had begun Deoncstruction

I meant that SFGAm didn't get any rc this year. The point I was trying to make about past construction is that a lot of construction wasn't done when the park was open. Thus SFOG and SFMM having markers, and SFGAm not, makes sense. If Whizzer is going (which I don't believe), they most likely wouldn't start taking it down when the park is still open.

Really? and Hurricane Harbor's construction last year during FF was not really happening?
Or how about the removal of Shockwave? and the construction of SUF?
Ilovthevu' you really need to stop talking because you dont have a clue as to what your talking about

Good question. Where can any coaster in the park go today?
In my view, I can't find any space in the park except if they tear up Splashwater Falls and build a B&M floorless there. Attempting to even begin to dismantle Whizzer will only cause widespread outcry. How many complaints have been posted on this site about the removal of Shockwave? With the addition of Hurricane Harbor, the rumor of a Tornado, and the company itself in debt I can't see another coaster being built in the park for another few years.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.
Hear ye, hear ye: "After 45 years, Six Flags has stopped smoking."
I think there should be a new coaster for the 30th year... but we still may not. I think it's only fair... Magic Mountain has 16 coasters and they're adding a new one next year. Great Adventure just received a record breaker, a new themed area, and they're also receiving a new woodie next year.
Yeah, we received Ragin' Cajun last year... but that's not a big, thrilling roller coaster.
I think it would be a great idea to remove IMS and LR and put a floorless there. IMS and LR aren't all that popular anymore...they're also pretty boring for anyone. If someone wanted to get wet there's Roaring Rapids or Splashwater Falls. PLUS, there's a huge waterpark you can go to.
After thirty years... I think Great America definitely deserves a new major attraction.
They will definitely NOT take out Whizzer... And I also saw the new Fastlane device installed. It would be a major mistake to take out Whizzer for their 30th.
I'm still crossing my fingers hoping Six Flags will add a new coaster (Floorless) for 2006. We definitely deserve it... Great America is a huge money maker for the chain. With the addition of HH, I'm sure we raked in a lot of money that should be put back in the park.
"Come ride our new for 2006 roller coaster to celebrate our 30 years of operation!"
They could also come out with a new night show to also celebrate. If their 30th anniversary is advertised with the new roller coaster and/or night show, they could indeed get more growth in attendence.
Whenever Great America or the other flagship parks come out with a new attraction, people certainly come to ride it.. That's the reason why they build new attractions to the top parks, they know they WILL make the money back from admissions.
Remember, these are simply ideas that could be used... Nobody knows for sure what's going on next year. I just think it's a shame to celebrate GA's 30 years with just a Tornado.
