Questions Regarding Fright Fest

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby tooexcited914 on July 25th, 2005, 9:33 pm
I have some questions about Fright Fest that I hope you can answer.

Is the general admission the same price?

Is it usually crowded?

What do they do for Fright Fest (any shows, theming, etc.)?

Is it anything different from going on a regular day?

I'm moving this to Six Flags Great America forum where it will recieve a bit more attention.

Fright Fest is can be some of the most crowded days of the year. American Eagle will acually use the Que line under the giant circus tent. Saturdays are the busiest. You'll hear mixed reviews of Columbus day, but I hear its almost always crowded. I've had good luck on friday afternoons.

Admission is the same as any regular, but you should probably try getting coupons, you can get those like in september. frightfest is always packed, dont go with expectations of riding everything.theming is creepy yet cool.
I'm running to Bull on opening day, anyone gets in my way and they'll get trampled.

As they said, its the same price and all that. The hours are slightly different too. This year it seems they're doing something different for saturdays and staying open until 11 instead of 10, but that's just what the calendar said at the beginning of the year that may change before then.

There are different shows from during the year. LAFF aka Love at First Fright is the big musical in the Grand Music Hall. The jug o'jugglers turn into the Jugglers O'Death and Manny B plays different music. It's up in the air as to what the other stage usually has on it. Last year it was a hypnotist, this year...who knows.

Also there are two haunted houses and a haunted forest. There's tons of themeing and its fun all around.
What you don't understand you can make mean anything.

I have found Friday nights to be the best, especially if you get to the park when it opens at it is slow the first few hours.
The theming is so-so and doesnt change much from year to year, the walk thru the picnic area is good if the scare-actors are on, but the haunted houses arent scary unless you are a teenage girl and of course they are a upcharge attraction.

Guess they're getting a bit of a jump on Fright Fest...Today when I was at the park I noticed they had one of the big spiders, some tombstones and other decorations on the grass area to the right of the entrance path bu Columbia Carousel. Sort of a teaser I guess.

I hope you're right... That whole Ragin' Cajun deal was such a tease.

I haven't been to Fright Fest in a few years... I'm really looking forward to it this year. I think I'll mostly come on the Fridays though since I hear it's less crowded.

Geez, seems a little too early for Fright Fest decorations. There's still a month left of the regular season.

I was thinking, they should put back all the old Demon themeing during Fright Fest. (the show thing waiting in line, the smoke, all the lights, etc.) And even the front sign should show the original Demon.

yeah, the huge spider for eagle was being inflated on Sunday over by the carousel, but i think it's just a preview for what will come during fright fest.
