Hello, were the seatbelts a new addition in the 2004 season. Cause when I went in 2003 i just had the lapbar???

If I remember, I always thought I had to put seatbelts on before pulling my bar down..

Well you remember wrong. Seatbelts were added in '04

Yes, they were added in 2004, but they don't really do anything considering that the ride ops only make sure you have them on.

What else are they supossed to do besides make sure you have them on, check to make sure the latch is working?

Uhhh, last time I was there, they did check lap bars (physically).

They don't tighten the seat belts.

After the airgates open, you sit down in your row of two seats. Then you and the other rider if you have one buckle the belt. You pull your lapbar down and the op comes and checks it to make sure it is functionuing properly. If they all are he stands at the back of the train and raises his thumb to signal the dispatcher to send the train through its 4,650 ft long course. This is true on both the Blue and Red sides.
