I was wondering....when is there like nobody at the park? I wanna go there and only have like 500 ppl in the park. I always read about it in TRs and was wondering when exactly that happens.....besides when they are closed and rainy days...
Well.... I went to the Kiss FM buyout on April 29th and every ride was less than a 5 minute wait (including Deja Vu). I also read in other trip reports that opening day was just as empty.
Coasters Ridden: 131 Top 5: Maverick, El Toro, Voyage, Fahrenheit, Dominator
In the early season, on dates in April and some of the weekdays in May, and only when its absolutley frigid and raining, there can be 500 people in the park. But that tends to happen VERY rarley. And usually when that does happen, they will shut the park down for the day and make everyone leave, and offer some kind of compensation (what I don't know)
Your chances of planning a day for this will be very slim, and it will suck to be there.
In the past when I've been at the park, and they close early due to rain, everybody on their way out the gate got a free admission ticket. Even season pass holders.
As for Fright Fest it's actually cool when it's crowded. More people screaming and running.
Go on a wendsday or thursday, It isnt as packed as the other days. And stay in the park, dont go to huricane harbor. Thats all I can really say to have a less packed day
Giant drop is the best ride ever!

Fright Fest Fridays are generally empty compared to Saturday and Sunday's crowds.
I went last year to every FF Friday, I got the most rides on one of those days than any other days of the year. It was so dead that almost every coaster was sending half-empty trains.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.

I would have to concur with that. It has been like that for the last two years. I went in 2003 on the first friday of FF, and the family and I felt like we had the park to ourselves, and the same with last year. People don't feel like spending $44, and not having a full day at the park. If your a season pass holder, that is the best time to go.
More or less, the park gets busier and busier as the season goes on, May is when the park is generally empty, Season passholders I assume make up the majority of people who go these days. End of May/June is when the park is still fairly slow, but is when schools start showing up and you will see bus after bus entering the park, but most schools leave by 6pm and the park is empty for the rest of the night on all of these days.
July and August = More or less always busy unless weather is bad.
Frightfest = I have only gone on Saturdays and Sundays and it has always been horribly busy, I am going to try a Friday night this year and see how it goes though
I have also found Frightfest Fridays to be the best days to visit for minimal crowds. 6 hours is plenty of time to bang out as many rides as you please.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Opening weekend is the time to go, or mid may before all the kids are out of school. We were walking up on a lot of things the first weekend. Now that the Hurricane Harbor is open, attendance is way up.

Opening day is never full. Every ride is usually about 2-3 minutes (except Déjà Vu which usually has about an hour- hour and half wait. Also depends on when you go on during the day).
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu
