Merry-Go-Round Question

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby RagingBull914 on July 5th, 2005, 6:55 pm
In 2004 I asked a guy what there were going to do with the removed Merr-Go-Round were Revolution Stood, and he said they were puttin it up some where else in the park. Is this being planned or did this guy have problems.

Maybe they will put it back up somewhere this next offseason. They could and should put it under the Eagle tent. There's plenty of room.

That's a good idea. Unless the ride has a possiblity to start on fire. Because then there goes the tent.

^What does Ameri-go-round have to do with BTR getting an award? I'm puzzled? I thought I heard on this website that Stervart said they were going to relocate it. ACE members might know about this. I don't.

Since the Columbia is like two Merry-go-Rounds (top and bottom), do we really need three. Besides, AGR was hardly open, and it wasn't that packed. It deserves a park that doesn't have one.

Half of the Am E tent is a waste. The other half is okay. I really think that they should move the tent part of it to the food court (in County Fair).

At Coaster Con, there was a question about Ameri-go-round, and they responded that it will be relocated to another Six Flags park for the 2006 season.

^ But first Curty told everyone it was scrapped and melted down, everyone though he was serious! But no, he said it would be put in another SF park.

Don't forget that the tent is a remnant from when the American Eagle wasn't even constructed yet. In the years prior to the opening of the Eagle, it was home to a circus show. Complete with elephants, tigers and high-wire acts. When AE was built, it was converted to queue space, which was needed in the early years of the ride.

Think what they could do with those open queues. It could probably house at least 1 maybe even 2 small flat rides.

Definetly. I mean when was the last time you ever saw those queues used? To tell you the truth, I think that long a queue is a bit excessive. Heck, Raging Bull doesn't even have that long of a queue and it has 1 of, if not the longest queue in the park.
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/

It has a long queue because back in the day when it first opened, it was the tallest roller coaster in the world and everybody wanted to go on it. I, personally, was not around at that time, but I've heard reports that waits were up to 6 hours!

I could see it being long back then but today I don't think the line has gotten that long to warrent the use of those queues.

They should put it where the big claw game is. No one can win in those games anyway.

That's kind of the point. If you can't win, they never have to reload their prizes.
