Go to Pentax.com and download the free admission voucher. You have to sign up for a free camera give-a-way but they don't ask for much info just your name and email.
I took advantage of the last Pentax camera day on June 23rd. All of the dates are Thursdays. I didn't own a Pentax camera so I went to the Goodwill and bought one for $2. The promotion is good for any Pentax camera and although it says that you need a coupon and camera for each person I did not find that to be the case. The person at the gate did ask to see my camera but she barely looked at it. She was more concerned with the free admisssion coupons. I took 4 kids with me and they didn't have cameras but I had more than enough coupons.
So, the five of us enjoyed a day at the park for less than $20. I paid for gas and $10 for parking. We packed our own food, soda, and water (small sodas or bottled water is $3 in the park) and kept it in the trunk. Total savings on full priced admission $223!!
We're going back this week and probably again in August. See you there........
Thanks for telling us, I'll make sure not to go any of those days. It's going to be packed Thursday because of this and CAD. The August dates will be horrible because that is also the week the Read To Suceed tickets expire.

true that. I'll be there weds and I'm hoping it won't be THAT busy since a lot of seasonpassholders will probably hold off until the next day.

It is an admission ticket, so you should be able to upgrade. There is nowhere that is says "Upgrade only with paid admission"
It should be easily upgradeable, no questions asked.
We arrived at the park around 12:30. I did not find the park very crowded on the last free admission day. I also didn't notice many people taking advantage of the Pentax promotion. I don't think it is widely known and most people don't have Pentax cameras anyway or there probably would have been more crowding. The lines were quick and if not for the heat that day it would have been a perfect day at the park. And Yes, you can use any Pentax camera no matter how old it is.
