Many believe it was for sale online. A used ride site had the same model up for sale, but it was never distinguished if it was ours or not, My assumption is that it was ours as a week or two after it was melted down it disapeared from the site.
I believe all that is left of it, are a few of the cages which are used for Fright Fest decorations. I'm not sure if they got rid of the rest of them from the employee lot or not.
Ride itself sat in SFGAm's E-lot for a few years then it was sold to the Cleveland Corp for scrap and was destroyed. And this year all but 4 cages were destroyed.
The one for sale (actually has been listed for sale for alot longer than it's been since Sky Whirl was taken out) was either Hydra in Japan or PGA's Sky Whirl, it also was scrapped along with PGA, the ride no longer exists anywhere in the world(last I heard Interama's was taken out a few years ago as well), though it is still offered in Intamin's Catalog, but the manufacturer of the ride got out of the ride business some years ago, not sure how Intamin would go about having one made if they should happen to sell one.
