Its a complete, total, and utter ripoff. The only time these things are of value, is if you are visiting the park for 1 visit and dont plan on returning the same year.To me, if you have a pass, and visit numerous times, I dont see the value in them.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

I agree Chitown, for a person likes me who visits the park so often it really is a waste of money...especially if I wanted to get one everytime. Besides most lines at Great America don't even get that long anyhow(minus Saturday lines), and if they are long I skip the ride that day or come back to it after 6 once the park clears out a bit.

No, its very helpful for when I go with my friends because most of them dont like to wait inline, so it does help some.
It's not how high or how fast you build the roller coaster it's how smooth you build it!

Fast lane is a big rip off. If you buy it and you have four people that want to go on one ride then all four holes get punched out. So you waste $12 for one ride. Any other way you use it its still a rip off. If you come one time a year then its kinda worth it.

I usually get a fast pass if I'm not going to be at the park for a long time and want to get on as many rides as possible.

yeah that's what i do too. if we're going to be there all day.. we don't normally get a fast pass. i think if they added 2 dollars onto the price this year that they shoulda added one more punch to make it 5!! that it kind of getting expensive. at disney it's free. geez! lolbut it IS worth it on weekends in like july when the lines are NEVER under 45 minutes for anything. one day, we seriously did save almost 8 hours in line. we added it up. there were people at the end of the day in line by us that said they had been there since opening too and had only been on like 2 rides. that must suck! so next time, they said they'd buy a fastlane because we told them how much time it really does save! haha

OK thats fine if you call it a rip off. But not everyone thinks its a ripoff. They wouldn't be buying them if they thought it was. Also, no one is forcing you to buy one. If they park entrance fee was $100 you would call that a rip off, right? Thats because you HAVE to pay it to get in. Fastlane is an add on, not required to play in the park. It's like go carts. So what I'm saying is can it be classified as a rip off if its not required? On this same general note, I absolutley LOVE the Disney FASTPASS and the Universal EXPRESSPASS, but they have their cons. Yes, it's free. But you have to go back at a certain time. With FASTLANE, you can go whenever the hell you want to.

yeah....but when you pay all that money you only get to use the pass a couple of times.....my little sister bought one and she said she only got to use it twice(are there different types you can buy?) anyway you cut in front of people who have been waiting for a long time, and i dont think thats right....but whatever floats your boat!

Its a rip off for those waiting in line watching those that paid the money cut in front of you.I also have seen alot of people who get wheeled around in a wheel chair but when it comes time to cut in front of me in line and take my back row seat on Raging Bull they get up and walk to the train fine. One made me really angry on Sunday, a girl in a wheel chair with her friends got out of the wheel chair. Her friends took the right side of the car closest to the exit and she had no problem walking over everyone to get to the left side of the car. If she was hurt you think her friends would have helped her out by letting her have the closest seat. The system is there for people who need it, and I hate to see the system abused.

Thats true, but anything can be classified as a ripoff that is optional to pay. More power to the park for being able to sell them. People will just suck it up and pay it for the advantage of reducing wait times but I guarantee you not many people will say that $12.00 for 4 rides is a great deal even after they used it.The same applies to the food and merchandise in the park. I find it a ripoff but I breakdown and still purchase. After my purchase, I still find it to be overpriced.

I agree with chitown. They raised the prices for everything this year. Its crazy. I still buy food when Im really hungry and I dont feel like going to my car. The food isnt all that good and they charge you a lot for it.

FastLane may be useful on a Saturday, but the weekdays should be alright without it. In fact, when I went to SFGAm on 5.20.03, FastLane wasn't even in use. And, the only food I usually get at SFGAm are the calorie-filled Funnel Cakes or Lemon Chills while in a long line for Batman.

Dave, thats nothing. I don't know where the person went on the train, but as I was getting off of Iron Wolf, a guy stood up out of his wheelchair to ride it! Isn't their a rule about not being able to ride if you have certain ailments, and on Wolf, I'd think one would be leg problems... One area the park could really improve on is being more stringent on issuing exit line passes. Any dimwit can sit in a wheelchair, but only the people who need to should get a pass to go up the exit ramp. Let the others drag their chairs up the stairs in the entrance line.

Last year they only gave the exit passes to people who had doctors notes. This year you dont need one because a lot of people complained about the doctors not part because they did know they needed one. This year they should watch out for those who rent wheel chairs because if you were really disabled then you wouldnt rent a wheel chair from the park. You would have your own.

Part of the wheelchair problem is that it is ILLEGAL to deny someone a RAP (ride acessiblilty pass) if they tell you that they have a medical condition. We CAN NOT ASK what the problem is.You can ride all the rides as long has you have 3 limbs. On Iron Wolf, 2 of those limbs must be the legs, and one artificial leg is ok.We were instructed this year to make RAP people wait the extended length of the wait for either the front or back rows. So if the wait was 15 minutes more than the wait for row 5, the the folks with the RAP would have to wait 15 minutes. Someone obviously wasn't following protocol. The RAP's are a very touchy subject in regards to what exactly employees can do. Just like line jumpers. We can no longer DENY a ride, we can only DELAY one. Security are the only ones that can DENY a ride now, which sucks. Gone are the days of rideop's kicking idiot guest's out of line. Darn it.

Some of these people make me so mad. There should never be people coming up Iron Wolf's exit. If you have an upper body disability, it doesn't affect your ability to wait in line. If you have a lower body disability, then how the **** are you going to stand up for the whole ride. On the other rides, it's so easy to spots the fakes. They could at least limp so it looks like they're injured.

i just don't see the point. it's pretty dumb to go through all the trouble of faking an injury... do they NOT see ALL the other people standing in line? do it too! you aren't special or anything.and about fastpasses, i really dont think they are a ripoff, they are more of a privilege. the park does not HAVE to provide anyone with this service. it's to make it more convenient for those who may not be able to stay a whole day or those who don't visit the park that often. to THOSE people, it is a lot of help. i may be wrong but i think they only sell a certain amount each day. you aren't forced to buy them and honestly, i kind of like them better than the disney ones because those you just come back so what's the point? if you are leaving soon, you can't come back, so it's useless to some people! lol i think it's kind of stupid that they made it 12 this year, 10 was fine. if they were going to do that, they coulda at LEAST added one more punch to make 5. :(
