Only time can tell, but if Six Flags decides to (I dont think they will) expect another puplic outcry. I will chain myself to it, hehe, just kidding, but they arent going to take it out.
^ Amen to that Rbull4life. My 4 year old will be taking her first ride on the Whizzer later this year. In fact I am making a special trip out of my way just so she can ride it.
I am also sure that she will convince me to buy her something extra as well, which mean that because of the Whizzer I will actually end up spending more money in the park than usual.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

And they shouldn't go saying that TTD and KK are the best rides if they haven't been on them. I doubt that they are any good. I'll be on KK this summer and TTD next year.
sfgam_guy14 wrote: it is just another kiddie ride and we have enough of those already.... I would rather have shockwave here than the whizzer so i dont want another good roller coaster to go down because of the whizzer
Whizzer is a good roller coaster, and as far as the general public was concerned... Shockwave was not. Just because Whizzer isn't your cup of tea, doesn't mean that it's not a favorite of someone elses.
**end rant**
I really don't believe they'd try removing Whizzer again this soon, at least I hope not. I really can't see it going anywhere for at least a few more years. I can think of a few(2) other coasters that (judging by queue line length) are not as popular as the Whizzer is.
I know this probally isnt true, just to throw us Holiday World fans off, but the PR Director of Holiday World, over on coasterbuzz, has given some clues that hint of a Schwarzkopk Speed Racer comming to Holiday world, because, as many of you may know, they are adding a new theamed section http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?m ... 433&page=1 the whizzer part is on page 35. Although, it would make sense that GAm just take it out to sell to Holiday World, more than likely untrue.
Sorry for the double post, according to a thread on Thrill Network, B&M signed a contract with Six Flags to build 3 new custom coasters. SFOG has mysterious markings along with SFMM, and the other possibly for SFGAm, I dont like rumors, but this sounds true. Just to keep you all informed.

Oh they are good but there are definately more cost-efficient ways for SFGAm to make a great coaster that will prove to be a Success. My wish: B&M Floorless.
1. Voyage
2. X
3. Millenium Force
4. Top Thrill Dragster
5. Raging Bull

I just told my daughter that daddy would be sitting right behind her, and that I would not let anything happen to her. I also made sure I pointed out all the other kids that looked younger than her. I would say "See, that little girl is going on, and she is not afraid.", or "look at the little boy laughing getting of the Whizzer." Now she rides it atleast 2-3 times in a row when we first get to the park, and several more times before we go home. LOL, I think I have been on The Whizzer more times than any other coaster in the park, but thats ok if it helps my daughter become a coaster enthusiast like her old man.
I hope that GA would not tear down The Whizzer, since it is the only original coaster left in the park. It has alot of fond memories for me, especially since it was the first "major" coaster I went on, and now I have passed that along to my daughter, and hopefully it lasts two more years so I can take my son on it. GA will do what they think needs to be done, and there is not much we can do about it, except to just take it. If it does go, I will miss it.

I hate to say this about a rumor but I could actully belive that. Six Flags and B&M are like best friends(Ecpesially with our park. If I'm not mistaken, we got more B&M's then any park. ).
Oh btw, I heard that Samarui Mountain@SFMM(Or whatever that area is called with them markings.) is a nice garden area. Why am I not suprised SF wants to build a coaster there?
On to Whizzer. I don't think Whizzer will be leaving us anytime soon. It is a very popular coaster and with the addition of HH, we have to be raking in some major bucks. I don't forsee Whizzer's demise till a long time from now when it is basicly unsafe for operation or just way to expensive to operate.
LONG LIVE WHIZZER!
This is where I would usually put stuff. Can't think of anything right now... =/
I don't like rumors either....but they do give you something to think about. Here's a thought:
Great America has brought us something new every year as long as I've lived out in Illinois.... V2, Deja Vu, Superman, Mardi Gras, and now Hurricane Harbor.....could there be another suprise along the horizon?
Every jumbled pile of person has a thinking part that wonders what the part that isn't thinking, isn't thinking of.
Granted, i'm not tryoing to start another rumor, but did not a few years ago, SFMM wanted to add a B&M Flyer on a hillside. It could be one of the 3 coasters presumably bought and it's a B&M right in the place it was supposed to go. Seems like a coincidence but we'll find out.

It is certainly possible. When I was at B:TR's ceremony, the Gen. Manager said that they are always lobbying for new rides but he did go on to say that they just completed a 7 year expansion and will now focus on guest service.
So, could we get somthing next season? Maybe but I just don't see it happening at this time. Also, from what I heard from the Gen. Manager, I think next season will be a park improvment season rather then getting a new ride or coaster.

Well, what Sevart says and what Sevart does is the difference. He could
say one thing, and do the other. You'll just never know. He could tell you
what he told you, just to cover up the confidential information of what will
really happen. If anything is going to happen, we'll know soon.
If they get rid of Whizzer, oh well! We'll know when Six Flags decides
to announce it.

Last time Six Flags pulled this, another coaster was removed in the end. Let's hope that the final Arrow looper in the park does not suffer this same fate. I don't post on here much, but a very reliable source left me a PM to come visit the park by the end of this year if I wish to ride Whizzer again. I was also shocked, but I had to believe the source.

No they haven't V2 and Deja Vu opened in 2001, Superman 2003, Mardi Gras 2004, and Hurricane Harrbor in 2005, in 2002 all that was added was a new parade with new "million dollar" floats if you want to call that an addition I guess you could.
The thing with coasters is it seems to be an every other year thing sometimes 3 years if you look far far back.
The additions since 1990 are as follows:
1990: Iron Wolf
1992: Batman The Ride
1993-1994: Space Shuttle I think that's it for those years
1995: Viper
1996: Southwest Territory
1997: Gaint Drop
1998: New kids areas(Cartoon Network(Spacely's)/Looney Toons National Park)
1999: Raging Bull
2000: I'm pretty sure nothing correct me if I am wrong.....
2001: V2 and Deja Vu
2002: Umm Parade?
2003: Superman
2004: Mardi Gras/Ragin Cajun
2005: Hurricane Harrbor
Now if you look at this since 1995 when Viper was introduced we have been recieving a major ride every odd year since then, this year we got a water park, and have not recieved a MAJOR roller coaster since Superman which next year will be 3 years ago, I think it makes sense that they will be adding a major attraction most likely a roller coaters next year.
Duh its gonna be a big ride next year its our 30th. I've heard from several sources that its going to be a whole new section by Yankee Harbor. They're gonna remove IMS ans LR and have a new section w/ a new coaster.
Echoing earlier comments that the park is trying to cater to families, it is in the best intrests of the park to keep Whizzer as long as it is a servicable ride. I don't think its dangerous to ride, or poses a saftey threat. It may be expensive to maintain, but in the long run it's a good investment.
What happens when a family with small kids comes to the park, and sees that there is nothing coaster-wise thats tamer for them to ride?
THEY DON'T COME BACK. Six Flags is a business. And with the new Guest Service initiative that is starting to ramp-up, they can't afford to make a blunder like that and lose their largest customer base. Coaster-enthusiasts and season-pass holders ARE NOT a parks bread and butter. They rely heavily on families who will spend 1 full day (now 2) at the park and SPEND SPEND SPEND. Season pass holders come into the park (on average) a total of 3 hours every visit. They don't spend much on shopping and food, thus the park makes very little money on a pass holder.
In other words, Whizzer is not leaving. But if it does, look for something that will appeal to families to take its spot. And if the park asked Claude to custom something for them, he would jump at the chance.
I dont really believe this rumor, because I dont know who emailed screamscape and told them that and because we havent heard it yet, but I think its really possible for reasons that I will now explain.
The wizzer backs right up to the new Hurricane Harbor Water Park and its entrance path. This year allready, the entrance gates to hurricane harbor have been closed because the waterpark reaches maximum capacity, which is only 7,100 people. If you ask me, I think that its possible that Great America may want to expand their waterpark onto Wizzer's property because of the popular demand of the allready existing waterpark, that is way overcrowded all of the time. I think it makes perfect sense because just like wizzer, hurricane harbor is a family attraction, and they might care more about expanding hurricane harbor than saving the wizzer because while only 1000 people an hour can go on the wizzer, 7,000 want to go to a waterpark. Six Flags guest services and customer relations would much rather please all of the poeple who are angry because they cant get into the waterpark or because they had to wait an hour in line for one slide than the coaster enthusiasts who want to ride the wizzer.
I think it makes sense, but I dont think it would happen this year and that is because six flags has not had enough time since hurricane harbor opened to design an expansion. Secondly, we allready know we are getting a tronado next year. Then there is the whole thing about wizzer being the park's first ride. It is possible that they are replacing it with another roller coaster, but seeing how we have seen no strange markings or heard anything about it until this anonymous post on screamscape, I doubt that the wizzer is going anywhere anytime soon.

Okay...For the last time. That rumor is not true. I, Yes, Me, I! Accidently started that rumor. I suggested I thought It wouls be a good Idea. Because Yankee Harbor Really has no theme anymore. I mentioned this like a year ago. Then it suddenly appears on Screamscape and now everyone thinks is true. This is not true! REPEAT: This is not true!
