So my friend is going with tomarrow to SF and this will be her first rollercoaster EVER (age 19) she said she wants to start out on the biggest coaster they have. to get it all over with. instead of building up.
Im thinking Raging Bull? but im not sure? what should we put her on first?
it depends on if she has any fears. if she just hasn't had the chance to ride any coasters in her life, let her choose. if she's afraid of loops, DV would be a good kick. if she's afraid of heights, then RB would be better. if she just wants the biggest, I'd recommend RB since it is big and a lot of fun, but still fairly easy going.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.
Maybe American Eagle? I think it's more scary than Raging Bull and it's not that much shorter. American Eagle Blue especially since some people hate going backwards.
I would have to agree with playerplex. In my opinion, Deja Vu is the most intense coaster in the park and everything else seems like nothing after riding it.
Coasters Ridden: 131 Top 5: Maverick, El Toro, Voyage, Fahrenheit, Dominator
First put them on STT (This way it gets them acoustomed to the heights)
Then perhaps something easy:
Whizzer
followed by Demon (this gives them height and speed of whizzer and adds the addition of being upside down)
After Demon:
Graduate them to Viper:
Viper gives them the idea of Whizzer/Demon but only in a wooden version.
After Viper try American Eagle, this gives them the idea of Viper only taller and bigger and faster.
after American Eagle get them to try Batman, since it will be a new experince since there feet "dangle". This couples the speed of American Eagle along with the inversions of Demon. Also the ride is smooth so they will probably enjoy it alot.
After BTR, go to V2, this gives them the speed and the "feet dangling" of Batman.
After V2.. Instead of Raging Bull id suggest Giant Drop, why? because not only do you get the speed like RB but the drop sensation similar to RB.
Finally after GD hit Raging Bull... once you've challanged RB your now ready to take on Deja, SUF and IW which is like extra credit if you will.
But lets review:
start them at SST gives them the Height:
Whizzer
Demon
Viper
American Eagle
Batman
V2
Giant Drop
Raging Bull
then SUF and IW and Dejavu
Hope it helps, its helped my cousin whose afraid of Coasters
and wouldnt ride even Whizzer
Also another idea for someone whose afraid of heights:
Take them to the Sears Tower, and have them put there head against a window and make them look down.
Do that for about 5 minutes and they will do one of two things:
1 they will hate you and probably hurt you 2. Wont be afraid of heights anymore
For Starters, you need to show her the fun in coasters. Put her on Viper because it's shorter, somewhat intense, but mostly fun. Then Bull is right next to it, she should be pleading to go on it.
If you are arriving at the park before it opens, they let you into Southwest Territory, so you can line up for either Viper or Raging Bull. Other coasters that you can line up for include SUF, and Whizzer.
Universal Orlando Mechanical Engineer Marathon down, Goofy to go.
Seriously, go on Fiddler's Fling first with your friend. This is an intense ride. Tell your friend that you've just rode the most intense ride in the park. After this ride, nothing can be more rougher, not even IW or RC. So, across from Fiddler's Fling would be IW. So, go on that.
After that, I would start with Whizzer, and than Demon because they are start up coasters. Viper would next, and then hit SUF, RC, BTR, and V2. After your done with the other side, try Am E out. RB, and D Vu' would be last because they might seem more scary to your friend.

S:UF is one of the less intense rides?!? Last time I checked, which was yesterday, the pretzel loop is the most intense element in the park. You may disagree, but I for certain believe that.

I say try out DV because of the rush and the intensity. You aren't enjoying the views from a Lazy-Boy seat like you would on the Bull. I definitely get more pumped for Vu any day - also it is much more disorienting.
