Gas prices

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Are gas prices hitting anyone else especially hard this year? It costs me at least $6 worth every time I go from Evanston, and when you go twice a week or so that really adds up...$48 a month...almost a hundred for two months and so on. I remember the good old days when gas was $1.65 a gallon...anyways anyone know of the cheapest gas station in the SFGAm area?

well, I'm planning a trip to germany next year and the current gas price there converted to US pricing comes up to $5.62 a gallon (actually rather low compared to most times I check it), also that is a.k.a 1.20 euro per liter.

Makes the gas price seems not to bad. Even though in Egypt and Brazil they currently pay the equivlent of around 68 us cents per gallon :)

You consider $1.65 a gallon the good old days? Damn, I must be getting old. Not even about 6 years ago, gas prices fell below a buck a gallon.

Yeah I mean last summerish. Didn't make that clear sorry. Yeah though I remember 5 years ago or so when it was barely over a dollar. Wow how things change.

No, your not old, I'm only 17 and I even remember when gas was regularly between $1.15 and $1.30.

Compared with Gasoline

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?
This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.
Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ...... $10.32 per gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ...........$9.52 per gallon
Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ... $10.17 per gallon
Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ......... $10.00 per gallon
Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 .......... $33.60 per gallon
Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .... $178.13 per gallon
Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 ... $123.20 per gallon
Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ..... $25.42 per gallon
Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 ...$84.48 per gallon
And this is the REAL KICKER...
Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon?! $21.19 for WATER - and the buyers don't even know the source. (Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or God forbid Pepto Bismal or Nyquil.

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

ROFL! Since when does a car run on Nyquil?!! Or iced tea? Or pepto bismol? Scope? Whiteout? None of that would be good for the pistons and valves.

That's a good word of encouragement.

you know what's funny? Americans spend on average more per gallon of stupid bottled water than gasoline.

Today crude oil just hit a record high and the same to diesel fuel. Gasoline may follow suit very shortly. :(

We spend more money on bottled water simply because it's pure and more healthy. Beside, bottled water is the only liquid to drink if you travel to a certain country such as Mexico, Egypt, Pakistan, or the Ukraine. Just a fact.

^Pure? Most Major companys don't filter thier bottled water. At least with tap water it's treated...

It's iffy down here.

$2.34 to $2.14 in around 36 hours.

Our one privatley owned gas station actually discounts it by a dime on Sunday morning's after Mass lets out. It's pretty hectic.
