Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
I feel bad about bringing up this topic, especially since batman the ride is being honored by the ACE tomorow, but I havent ridden batman all season, and when I rode it yesterday, it was so rough that I had to keep my head out and forward so it could not hit anything. When I got off the ride, I heard kids saying that it knocked their heads around alot, so I wasnt alone. Anybody else notice?
I think this is realy sad because I allways loved how smoothe and fast and intense it was, and it was the only looping coaster left in the park that wasnt painful. What can be done to make it smoother or slow down its aging?

Where were you sitting? When I was in the back it wasn't noticeably worse than last season. Yeah, it seems like it has been getting rougher over the past couple of years, though. Probably because of the paint or something.

Yeah, but it slowed it down. Maybe that would make the roughness more noticable or something.

The train shakes a little more in the turn after the second vertical loop. Nothing even close to being rough for me to write a topic about it.
But hey, maybe you just had a bad ride.

Deja, how exactly can you measure the changes in train shakage?
Anyway, its the same old BTR... Awesome ride as always.

Well Mike, it's obvious each year at about this time he obviously brings his richter scale onto the train to measure the 'shakage'. Then he brings the results to his lab in his secret underground lair. He refers to this lab as 'the batcave'....where he does all his caculations and comes to the conclusion that this year it is shaking more then last year.

Dave??????
Bruce Wayne would be very disappointed with your analogy on "shakage".
Mr. Wayne himself uses the tried and true ghetto style "booty scale" to measure shakage of the train. If the rump shakes, so does the train.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.

Wow. There's just a little more of a rattle at that one point in the ride. It wasn't as noticeable as last year.
But yeah, I agreed, Batman is still great.

You still didnt really answer the question.
Let me ask this again, Exactly how do you measure train shakage from one year to the next?

Batman has not changed at all, it is still the same speed, and still smooth. One ride, however, that got rough is Superman, that thing has just got rough way too quickly.

Okay,
First it was it was Iron Wolf...ohh bo hoo its too rough, Then people claimed it was Raging Bull...Then Batman.. NOW its Superman?
First of all What roughness are you people talking about first of all?
And Second, If you cant handle a little roughness on a rollercoaster..STAY OFF THE DAMN RIDE

I dont think Wolf, Bull, or any other ride is rough. I was just saying that SUF is getting rough really quick, it has only been 2 full seasons.

The only thing that is happening to SUF is the blue paint is getting the Deja Vu Syndorme..other then that I dont beleive any of the claims of rides getting rougher..

Well, last year, I didn't notice this little "rattle".
I didn't even make it a big deal because it is very minor. I still said that it doesn't ruin the ride at all. I was just pointing out that this is the only place where it could be considered remotely rough.(which it isn't)
So for all of you who need my calculations: Last year-No noticeable rattle This year- small noticeable rattle.
Wow.

Deja Vu the Ride:
Im sorry but its nearly impossible to judge the "shakage" of a ride from one year to the next.
And another thing, how the hell can you tell the train is shaking when your upside down, and going 50 MPH?
Explain that because id really like to know that.

To clarify,
I've been on 27 Batman rides in the last two years- IT WAS NOT AND IS CURRENTLY NOT, rough
S:UF is arguably one of the smoothest coasters i've been on- IT WAS NOT AND IS CURRENTLY NOT, rough
Raging Bull got picked instead of a Morgan or Intamin Hypercoaster BECAUSE It is so smooth
Iron Wolf is an old stand-up with Intamin Trains. It's not as rough as most people think and if it is, it has a right to!
