I rode it for the first time in 8 years a few weeks ago. I enjoyed it. Besides, it's B&M's first coaster, they won't touch it probably.

Why would six Flags not "touch" a ride because its B&M's First? That doesnt make alot of sense.

For the last time, It's not going anywhere anytime soon. They just refurbed the train(s?) and supports. It isn't leaving anytime soon.

On a full day, the thing is using switchbacks.

I believe SF wants to keep B&M's first coaster maybe for the history. Besides, Iron Wolf is a "stand-up" coaster. People for some reason think that words like "stand-up", "floorless", "one of a kind" (for whizzer) are unique.

The General Public has NO IDEA that Iron Wolf is even made by B&M, yet alone do they know that it was the first!

The only reason Whizzer was saved, is because of its drawing power, everybody can ride it.

Iron Wolf doesnt have that drawing power, and the people it does draw, usually dont come back!!

Its a great ride. It's one of only a few stand up coasters still standing and thats why it should stay.

History doesn't mean anything to anyone else except for the enthusiasts crowd. I personally like the ride quite a bit. However, I don't think it will last more than 5 years. The queue is almost empty everytime I'm in line. They refurbished the train because they think it will help the ride. I really, really doubt it.

I enjoy the ride, but I would probably favor it to leave over any other rollercoaster in the park. Standup isn't that spectacular in my opinion.

Iron Wolf is one of my favorite roller coasters at G A. It was one of the first I'd ever been on. I'd hate to see it go...I'm hoping to get a few more rides on it before/if that happens.

Iron Wolf is staying at least for a little awhile longer. It's still popular and even though WE may think it is rough, I hear people coming off the ride saying "That was great!" or "This is my favorite ride!".

I personally like the ride and don't mind the minor roughness.

When a ride shakes on the first drop it needs help. Then again I always get unlucky and ride the train that wasn't rehabbed yet. Anyways in the front row at night it's a great ride. Otherwise it's less than stellar.

That ride is just great, I dont see the park removing it for a while. Just like Jeff said, there are many that like it, it is a different kind of ride experience instead of just sitting down.

As much as they'd like us to think that they do, the people who will ultimately decide whether or not this ride stays care little about what we want. They care about how much it costs to operate and maintain the attraction. If a ride is expensive to run and maintain, and it is unpopular, there's a good chance that it will be removed. That was the main reason why Shockwave went to scrap instead of Whizzer. Shockwave had lost a great deal of popularity and was becoming increasingly problematic in terms of operation and maintenance. The final straw came when the wheel malfunction, at least I think that's what I remember it being, caused one of the trains, with riders aboard, to have to be e-stopped mid-course. Anyhow, the entire "we kept Whizzer around because of the general public's plea" was just a perfect spin of PR. In the end, rides that run reliably and don't cost the park out the ear stay, unless NOBODY rides them at all. Rides that cost a lot to maintain and are unpopular head to the scrap heap. I'm not sure how Iron Wolf stacks up in terms of cost, so it's anybody's guess. Like others have stated, however, the fact that they rehabbed the one train and some of the support work seem to indicate that they plan to keep it around for at least a little while longer.

The fact that they rehabbed a train doesn't necesarily mean anything about how long the ride will stay. Anyone here remember back in 2002, they rehabed train 4 on Whizzer even though they fully intended to remove it that year.

You're right; they could just be doing the minimal rehab needed in order to keep the ride operating safely. Only time will tell whether or not they're investing in the ride for the longer haul. However, every dollar they spend increases the odds of it staying. They're not going to keep throwing money at an attraction that they don't intend to keep.

I agree that refurbishing Iron Wolf Means nothing. Everytime i seem to be at the park its a que line less than 15 minutes. I think Iron Wolf will be torn down somewhere in the next 3 years. Ive heard rumors of a 4th dimension coaster for 2006, a dark ride for 2007, and a new large steel megalooper for 2008. Im guessing SFGM will be trying in the next several years to get its attendence record back up to their old record highs.

Did you hear about the 4th dimensional from that Tumbleweed rumor going around last year and the dark ride from screamscape? It just seems wierd that you would say that, since those were the rumors of the past.

Well I don't like IW, because it just is painful and that corkscew kicks my ass each time. Maybe it's just because I'm tall.

I also really don't like Iron wolf. And although I don't know, I'm guessing that if the park got rid of a coaster in the next couple of years it would be Iron Wolf.

You also have to take into account that Whenever it rains, even a slight mist, Wolf is usually one of the first rides to close down because of its tire drive system.

Iron Wolf is not going to be leaving anytime soon.

Cmon guys, we went through this in the last off-season.

BTW, Wolf's line isn't always the shortest in the park. Considering I have seen full queue's many times in the preceding years and the line was at least 25-30 minutes on Friday.(While Eagle was a Walk-on to 5 minute wait.)
