Where can I find weight restrictions?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.
Postby Minniegirl on June 12th, 2005, 11:31 am
I feel so lame asking this but does anyone know where I can find actual weight restrictions for the individual rides? I will be there on Wed. and though I have dropped 15 pounds I still fear there may be rides that may be a problem for me. I would be so embarrased if I got kicked off a ride so that is why I am asking before we go. I read here about the chairs but knowing about the actual restrictions ahead of time would just make me feel better. I tried to find it on the SF website but they don't seem to have any specifics. Thank you!

Added***I saw another theme park website that listed certain rides that people over a certain size may have an problem with. i.e. women over size 18 may have a problem with such and such a ride. That is what I am trying to find out.

If you want to go on Turbo Bungy, you must be between 50 and 220 pounds. No other rides have weight limits.

acually there are no weight restrictions (the harnesses can hold more than enough weight). The only restrictions would be for size. And the only way you can find out is if you go there and try it.

I think she's talking size restrictions for the restraints. There is no way to know size wize on the internet but here are some basic guidelines:

-On Raging Bull the little red stripe on the bottom of the bar must be hidden
-On Iron Wolf and Batman the seatbelt must buckle
-Giant Drop seatbelt must buckle as well as Deja Vu
-Superman the harness must close all the way

Otherwise if the lapbar goes down you can ride.

The harness basically has to close all the way to make sure of your safety. I saw someone next to me and my cousin get kicked off of Raging Bull because the harness was about an inch out from where it should have been.

However...larger people are encouraged to sit in front of train on American Eagle, otherwise it won't make it over the hill.

I know your looking for actual weight requirements, but there are none, because everyone is different. Sorry, but the best way to go is the chairs in the front of the queue line. Demon's restraints will pretty much let anyone go on. so you'll be safe with that. for the rest of the steel coasters the best bet is the chairs. For Eagle and Viper the best way is to wait for when the queue line is not too long and try it out. For the woodies If Eagles queue line is short try Eagle firstEagle will probably fit bigger riders than Viper since it has one seat belt. VIper has seperate so , try Eagle if you can fit on Eagle then try Viper.

I'm near 220 pounds and fit great in restraints. I used to be around 240 and still was able to ride fine, how much bigger can you get?

If you're too skinny they may not let you ride certain rides because you may slip through the harness or something.

Oh My God, Give it up, Your fine!!!!!

There is no way in hell you would be able to "slip out of a ride" (all of our Intamins have OTSR's :D )

this should be a non-issue

Technically, there is a SLIM possibility you CAN slip out of an OSTR if your shoulders aren't broad enough........And by the way Timmy179, there have been plenty of cases of people slipping out of rides!!!!!<<<not just from rider ejections............................But again, the chances of that happening are FAR greater than you fying!!!!!!..But it's possible...

Actually, American Eagle is an intamin and it has lap bar restraints. Sorry, but you're wrong.

Actually, American Eagle isnt a Intamin coaster. It was an Intamin design with trains built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters, therefore making it a mix of both companys, but the restraint system is nothing Intamin.

^That's awesome

Anyway, the TRAINS were made by PTC. Then again, they make trains for 85% of wood coasters, so that is irrelevant and Eagle is an intamin, enough said.

Timmy.

It is an Intamin coaster. PTC had nothing to do with the design, layout, etc., of the ride.

All they(PTC) provided was the trains.
I finally retired the Sarah Palin signature because she is now 100% irrelevant.
