Gameplan 6/28

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

Just wanna get another opinion if this sounds like a good gameplan for a day.

Arrive at the park at opening.
Get two fastlane passes, one for me and one for my dad.
Hit Deja Vu, R. Bull, VV, and S:UF with the fastlanes first.
Depending on the time eat lunch after that.
Hit IW, Demon, AE, Viper, and BTR without passes.
Get seconds on coasters and hit Giant Drop until 7:00/7:30ish.

I really hope everything is open this day.

Deja Vu does not have Fast Lane access. If you get to the park before opening, you could probably hit a few rides before getting your Fast Lane tickets.

If you want, you can hit S:UF first, then hit Batman and V-2 with little wait.

Or, you can go to Raging Bull and Viper first thing in the morning. Then, you can go get the Fast Lane tickets.

If you see Deja Vu testing in the morning, before the park opening, you could hit that first, too.

Sadly I am not a season pass holder. I doubt I'd go more than once a year so really there isn't much point. that kinda bites that there isn't any fastlane for the Vu. Would I be able to hit the nine good coasters in my time frame?

Depends on the crowds. Probably though, if you don't count cajun.

Yeah you should be able to, especially with fast lanes.

Its not a good idea to plan your coasters in order, due to excessive lines and breakdowns you will just be confused.

Awesome. Man I am so frickin psyched for this trip. I haven't been to GAm for like ten years. I always liked it better than StL by far and I am so ready to go there. I'm kinda sad that there's no shockwave though. It was one of my faves. I think it was a lowsy decision to scrap it and not the whizzer. Whizzer isn't even exciting. It just doesn't make sense.

It makes plenty of sense, neither S:UF or shockwave were family rides, and if you look up family rides in the dictionary there is a picture of whizzer.

Family Schmamily. I mean there are two smaller coasters that can be family rides other than that one. (Spacely, and Cajun) Shockwave just rocked and it shouldn't have gone.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in my life.

Your right.... six flags should forget about 95% of their customers... and only cater to the 5% of which are coaster enthusiasts! Great idea!! Screw familys!!!

I really don't care what coaster they would have taken out had it not been that one really. I mean if they were gonna take a steel inverter out they shoulda got rid of demon really. It was older and all. Hey and I happen to be a husband and father so I don't say screw families.

Oh my god. He was making fun of you and being sarcastic, guy. He was saying that currently Six Flags (the whole corperation) is trying to reel in more families, since that is where most of the money is. From a business standpoint shockwave was the natural choice. And S:UF probably wouldn't have fit in Demon's spot anyway.

By the way: you were the one who said 'Family Schmamily'.

Yeah, a lot of people did. It's just a lot of us get tired of it because the subject has been 'argued about' and discussed to death on these (and every other SFGAm board.

But, getting back to the issue. It really is not a good idea to plan your day. I've tried this, it doesn't work. If you get there at 9:30 you should be able to get in some no-wait lines. Then buy some fastlanes around noon, when you'll need them. Also, the park usually begins clearing our later in the day. and If you have all day, take advantave of the Jumpin' Jammin' Jubilee and ride some of the coasters with longer lines at the very end of the day, when they will either have no line, or you'll be guarenteed a ride.

Should there still be fastlane passes available around noon. Since there is a limited number of them.

I'm thinkin what we may do is since Deja Vu has no fastlane (bogus). We will try to hit that first, if it's open (which it seems to me like it closes a lot). Then we may get the fastlane passes after that since the booth for them is close by.

Its not bogus that D Vu' doesn't have a fastlane. The line is three time longer than a BTR. You have to wait for people to buckle there orange belt, and then after they get checked, then the employees need to check people's harnesses. One top of that, its only in one train operation all the time. So, its really like three times a BTR, or a SUF line even if the line looks short.

As for the families thing, UGGGHHH!!! Seriously, the park is full of both non-family teenagers, and families. There are enough rides for both sides without putting any in. Shockwave went for just the fact that the line became a walk on for the whole last year it was working. If _____ becomes a walk on the last year it was there, I think that ride should go (no matter what it is). Sadly, I think IW is going to be starting this trend. I believe that younger kids and parents like the Whizzer a lot, so it should stay. In my opinion, Demon is a better looping coaster though.
