Raging Bull trims

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

is it just me or are the trims on RB up extra hard this season? I mean the trim on the third ascent takes away any sense of speed for the coming part of the ride...and the mcbr slows the train so much that you can barely get air on the bunny hills even in the back. I was wondering if they are turned up or if it was just me....it is kind of dissapointing.

The MCBR brake has been on a little harder as of late, but I have seen no major differences to the actual ride/airtime. I've become so used to the trims, that the ride is still great even with them!

Those trims are worthless. Sometimes, brakes can ruin a whole ride expierience. Look at any wood coaster built to be scary, Texas Cyclone, the biggest example.

It seemed like the trims were up on Monday (6/6) I didn't get any airtime.
It's green. It's blue. It's all over you! Enjoy your ride on Déjà Vu

It seems to me like the trims aren't on as much and there is more airtime than last year. On the block brakes it seems a lot worse than last year, but the air on the bunny hill after is still really good.

The trims seemed a bit stronger today, but it also seemed like Batman and Raging Bull were really really hauling today. Fastest I've been on them.

^I agree with you there, the trims were on hard on Bull but it also seemed to be running faster. Batman was flying and AE had 3 sets of trim brakes on hard.

... when I last went I thought the same thing.

The block brake seems to be at its worse.

I think they are triming hard on Eagle so people can look at the water park.

This may be a stupid question, but are trims manually set or are they cpu controlled? I always thought that they were cpu controlled so as to slow the train down if it is sensed to be entering an area of the course too fast. The way that some people on here have made it sound, the ops or maintenance pre-set them. Which is it? If they are pre-set on a day-to-day basis, what rationale is there for extra hard trims on one day versus another? Is there any, or is it just a matter of certain maintenance techs setting them harder than others?
I'm gonna twist ya, and I'm gonna flip ya. Every time you squeal, I'm just gonna go faster and harder.

the yare manually pre-set. They can be adjusted by mechanics.

Well, the brakes are controlled by the CPU, but the park (though a somewhat complicated process) can adjust the speed they are set to trim at.

Also the brakes are not on any harder than usual, the train is just going faster than normal as they have not yet taken off the Nylon Wheels on Cars 2-3. They use them when the weather is colder for alittle extra speed so they dont have to pull out Ye Olde Winch when empty trains dont quite make it around.

With the train going faster they feel like they hit harder, but the speed they trim you down to is about the same as usual.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for clearing that up!
