Back in June 2001, I had ridden pretty much most of the coasters at SFGAm except for Bull, Iron Wolf, and Shockwave (obviously not Vu since it wasn't open). I loved coasters but still got freaked out about riding them. I was deathly afraid to ride Bull, mostly because of the first drop. It looked so freaky.

I had gone on V2 earlier in the day, and since I was too scared to ride Bull I wanted to ride V2 again before riding Bull. Well my parents said if I went all the way to V2 then I wouldn't be able to come back over to Bull since it was near the end of the day. I was mad about that. So I just said whatever, I'll get this over with. I closed my eyes during the first drop, and once we went up the first turn, I opened my eyes and yelled to my bro "This is AWESOME!" and it was automatically my favorite coaster. I wanted another ride, so we went on again but I was freaked out because the grouper assigned us to the 2nd row, lol. It was still awesome though.

I really like the ride a lot though. I like right at the top where you drop a bit, and then get to the first drop. I think it's fun, especially in the back seat since you get yanked. It's really an awesome ride, and I like the colors too, especially in the sunlight. It just looks good.

Raging Bull was my 15th coaster back in '99.

All I can say was is that I hadn't ridden a coaster 1/2 as tall as that (Demon, Viper, and Batman were the tallest I ever rode). I remember the drop being extremely scary, but now I'm looking for it every thime I go into the park :D

2nd hypercoaster I was ever on, first was Magnum at CP. I was so excited after I got off, that my friend and I jumped back in line even though it was an hour long. Ever since it's been my favorite ride at the park. Went on it 7 more times today :o

My first time riding the bull was in '03 (my 1st trip to GAm). I couldn't believe that 1st drop. I remember screaming so loud on that ride that I nearly lost my voice. When I got off, I wanted to ride it again. Unfortunately, the line was way too long so I only rode it once. Last year, I rode it once again and this time I knew what to expect. This year will mark the 3rd time I will ride the bull and I can't wait (July 19th).

My first ride on Bull.

I didn't even want to go on it. I was forced to....Thank God.
I just remeber on the lift feeling so damn scared. I saw the hill and I said, "Heck Yes!" I got off and said, "I have to do that again."

Loopsandcorkscrews45, if you want to overcome your fear, ride Raging Bull. Just next time you go, just make yourself do it. I've gotten so many of my friends into coastering by forcing them on this ride. Just go for it.

As far as hyper coasters go, Raging Bull is the odd ball of the bunch mostly because of its added "twister" name tag. So, just on that merit alone, Raging Bull is a great coaster. But, I think everyone agrees with me, the trims do slow it down too much and reduce the airtime somewhat.
On the otherhand, the capacity for this ride is so great that you can easily ride it three times a day, and still ride almost every other coaster in the park. There isn't anything better than those Beemer pedestal seats either, so altogether Raging Bull is a solid coaster.

I will tell you the same thing I told my 4 year old daughter when she told me how she didn't like "butterflies tickling my belly" on Screaming Eagle.

Scream, yell, hoot, holler etc... all the way down the drop. I used to have the same problem and found that it helps. For some reason the muscle contractions used to yell/scream help to negate that feeling in the stomach.

After you have ridden coasters for a while, that feeling will start to fade, and you will start to miss it. This may explain the constant quest for better "airtime" that some of us go for.

As for my little one - Every trip around Screaming Eagle results in her yelling "Woohooo" all the way down the hills, and she keeps dragging me on it for more.
It's the most fun in the park when your laughing in the dark.

The year was 2001. Light crowds but Raging Bull had a 2 hour line. So we use the fastlane pass. It was the scariest thing goin up the hill. Then on the way down i screamed and my dad said a few words he shouldnt have, but we loved it.

Yeah. That's what I've done. Forced a person who was really afraid of coasters on raging bull first thing in the day. And then after, they were instantly hooked and wanted to go on all of the other coasters.

When I go to six flags now a days, since I live in the area and only go for an hour or two, the only ride I ever want to ride anymore is Raging Bull. I love riding in row 9, left seet and leaning over on the first drop (you all should try it) and on the turns. A buddy of mine can touch the rocks below (I didnt believe it either until he showed me the white dust on his fingers). The ride is amazing.

3 things could be done to make the ride even more thrilling and I wish they would do.

1. In the offseason, replace the lap bars with lock bars. They could keep the same restraints, but the lockbars are better than lap bars because they lock into place and cant get tighter during the ride.

2. Put some theming around the low banked turns or a tunnel somewhere.

3. I dont know if this is possible, but turn off the trims by the figure 8.

I bet that's why your name is L&Cs45. Anyway, It's only been a couple years since that feeling left me. As for that sick feeling, you need to try Batman,Superman,or IW. They're all B&M's and produce a strong ride that is very smooth, Yes IW too. Then you can work your way up to Raging Bull, which is also built by B&M. Before trying Bull, you should also consider V2 for the height and speed expierience.

I was 9 and I liked the airtime a lot. I like this ride, because it's good in every row in my opinion and it got me into being an airtime fan.

My aunt is a nurs, and one day each year my whole family would get tickets to Six Flags. My 3 cousins and I (The Fab Four) would make it a big event. In 2000, we all went and I got scared to go on Shockwave with the rest of them. While they were on the ride I got on Condor. We didn't meet up again ntil later that day. They told me that they had gotten on Giant Drop, Viper and Ragin Bull. so I lied and said I did too. So they said lets ride it again. I was so scared, but I wasn't gonna leave the line again. When we got locked in I gave up the charade, but it was too late. While going up the hill, my cousin Dustin kept pointing out how small the cars in the lot were getting which was making me increasingly scared.
But it was the best thing that hppened to me.

Back in 99', I believe I was at SFGAm on Raging Bull's opening day....!!!! I remember it being somewhat crowded.... The line for it was probably at least a 2-4 hour wait!!!!! Well any way... 99' was the year I actually got to go on rides with a height requirement of 54'', which was awesome... My sister and I rode Raging Bull 4 times in a row that day, when the line was getting short... My very first impression of that ride was excellent... I wanted to ride it non-stop because before 99', I never rode or even seen any roller coaster that high and that fast before......So, I loved that ride ever since!!! :D

the trims on the 3rd ascent really kill a lot of this ride in my opinion. That third hill has some serious potential, but it seems like they have the trims on extra hard this year. Makes the ride quite a bit slower. They also really need to tune down the trims before the bunny hops...they are set so hard that you can barely get airtime on those two hills, even in the back.

Heres some advice, you will always get that feeling on coasters, personally i like that feeling but if you dont thats that. Some coasters that dont give that feeeling are V2, batman, whizzer, and ssr! You should try going on bull because it is really fun! That feeling you get in your stomach WILL NOT make you throw up or die, its just a natural feeling our bodies get when they drop from hieghts!

I had two rides earlier this year (second weelk of the season, maybe) where the trims were off on that hill but they were on before the "figure 8".

Later in the day they were back on at the hill but off on the "figure 8."

I remember going on it for the first time in 2002 in row 8. I was quite scarred but was basically forced on to it. while ascending the lift hill one of my friends kept saying "ok were about half way up now" ect. (becuase I had my eyes closed) right when we got to the top the drop felt so awesome. I am so glad they took me on it. =)
