wrong forum and I was under the age of 10, I think. I had only been to Kiddieland before that and we didn't ride anything. I didn't even want to ride one of the log flumes at first, either, but I rode it anyway and had a good time. I still hated my dad for that, though.
I don't have a detonator; its on a timer.
A countdown timer?
No, a count-up timer. It goes from one to explode.

I was under 10 when visiting its opening year. All I remember is coming home with stacking markers and a frisbee with the Marriott's logo.

I think I was about 10 or 11. I know I went the year after batman the ride debuted. I loved it. The only other amusement park I'd really been to before then was Adventureland Park in Des Moines when I would visit my grandparents in Iowa. That park was actually a good place to get my first taste of coasters since they are kinda tame out there. But when I went to Great America I learned what real coasters are. I rode the Shockwave first. And I loved it. I'm so sad to see it go. It was my favorite sit down steel coaster.
Adventure, Excitement, Jedi Craves not these things.

I was about 1 or 2... still in a stroller. My parents have video from it. The park looked so different back then. I was brought up on Great America from my parents. I was one lucky kid!

Well, my first visit was 1989 making me 7. All I really remember is riding Tidal Wave, Whizzer, Eagle, Demon, Sky Whirl(and being terrifyed), Delta Flyer, Fiddlers Fling, Big Top, the sign proclaiming Pardon our dust- new attraction coming for 1990 where Wolf is now, and a hot dog that was far to spicy for my tastes for some reason. I probably did more than that, but my memory is pretty fuzzy :)
Favorite Wood Coasters: The Voyage, Ravine Flyer II, Thunderhead, Balder
Favorite Steel: Voltron Nevera, Steel Vengeance, Expedition GeForce, Olympia Looping
Parks visited: 232, Coasters Ridden: Steel: 894, Wood: 179, Total: 1073

NO clue my age on when I first went to Great America. I know I was about 4, 5, or 6. I really enjoyed the Bugs Bunny Land back then, and it's kiddie rides.

I know I rode the Fiddler's Fling, East River Crawler, Sky Trek, Sky Whirl, Haybaler (long live those two classics), and Yankee Clipper. I'm not sure about the Big Top, Delta Flyer, Triple Play, or Whirligig, though Whirligig is a possibility.
R.I.P. Splashwater Falls and Space Shuttle America. Deja Vu, enjoy Idaho.

Either 3 or 4, but possibly even younger. The 80's was a long time ago.

By the way, I think Fiddler's Fling had a different ride program back when I was a kid. It started slow and stayed that way momentarily before increasing its speed. Then it slowed down again before the cycle ended.
