Excuse me if this has been asked before, I tried to search but couldn't find anything. I was just wondering how people get exit passes? I know about those for the handicapped or injured, but how else do you get them? It seems that every day I goto the park, I see a group of what appears to be "normal" teenagers running around with those white exit passes.
I got one along with a couple free beverage coupons last year for being stuck on the Viper lift and then having to walk down.

Guest Relations...I get one because I am disabled and usually take my 3 wheel scooter...I think you have to have proof of disability as well for that.
If you're stuck on a ride for a long time, you'll get one. Also, they'll probably give you one if you wait in line for 4 hours for Vu, it breaks down but they say it will go back up, but never does. Not sure, though.
Well, if you go to Guest Relations and claim to have a disability, they HAVE to give you one by law without asking questions. Unfortunatly, people heavily abuse this.

If you've ever paid close attention to those, the people with the disability are given a time to come back at, so it's not just like a free ride on.

I've seen the same thing with wheelchairs/scooters in shopping malls....I think it's the same principle. And yes, if they still run it the same, you have to wait 2 hours between rides on any given roller coaster or whatever. So, no continuous rides, which sucks, but I can understand why. I don't have a problem with it. I thought about just saying forget the exit pass and doing the lines with my scooter for that reason. I don't know if I HAVE to get the pass because of the scooter or what....??
I got an exit pass on Opening Day for accidentaly getting switched onto the dock in Roaring Rapids.

You walk up through the exit and get to ride without waiting in line. I got one last year for being on King Chaos when it hit the fence of the exit area. Never got to use it though. The park changed the disability pass to try to eliminate the abusers. I probably saw about 10 different abusing groups a day. I would see people who had nothing wrong with them or had the pass for a stupid injury like a sprained wrist. I have only seen a few abusers since the pass has changed. The new pass is a bit unfair to the disabled since they give you a time to come back. I felt bad for this guy on sunday who was complaining about the waits because he has MS. The guy liked the old pass because he only stays for a few hours and he got on a good number of rides. I think they should change the pass back but keep the restrictions the same.

why should disabled people get onto the rides sooner? They should be treated like everyone else. If there is a 30 minute wait for the ride, they should wait 30 minutes.

Good point....who cares if it's a big wheelchair or scooter and there are a lot of other people in the line....better yet...disabled people can just stay out of the park, right? I mean yes, I agree that we disabled people should be treated as equal...I wouldn't mind waiting in line in my scooter. I have no problem with it. I think the park just provides the passes as a courtesy intended for genuine disabilities. I mean, if I had to wait in a 2-3 hour line on my feet, I would NEVER make it. Might as well take away the Fast Lane while they're at it. Why should anyone not have to wait in line.
No disrespect intended, I just get frustrated when people take advantage of things meant for the genuinely disabled. I think it's great that SF GA does the exit passes and if I had to have my doctor sign something that says I am disabled and can't handle standing in the lines, I will, just so all the unnecessary passes stop.

Shouldn't they have it so that Wizzer is handicap accesible? Wizzer has stairs, but no elevator or ramp leading to the station.
Actually, I did get on the Whizzer last time I went. I don't remember how, but I did it....I don't know if someone carried the scooter up the stairs (I would probably remember that) or what....not one of my favorite rides anyway, but I did check it out once.
I know that it's possible for some people to get on it, because they could hop up the stairs if they had a broken leg or something, but I was just wondering why they didn't add a ramp or anything.
Come to think of it, I think I left it at the bottom of the stairs and just walked up. I can walk and everything, I just can't handle long distances like Gurnee Mills, SF GA, etc, because I get off balance easily sometimes.

So basically, it is ILLEGAL for GR to ask "What is your disability?" if you go ask for a pass? Just asking because a friend of mine, who has some blood pressure/heart problems and isn't capable of standing in line for 2 hours went and asked for an exit pass YESTERDAY and she was asked that question. If they asked me that, I would've called them on it and said "Isn't it against the law for you to question me like that?" I mean, I have no problem bringing record of my whole medical history, but that's not anybody's business unless I want to tell them. But I'm not going to go into all that with someone I don't even know and probably won't see but a couple times a year if that.
I got an exit pass for being stuck on KC for 15 minutes last summer. Used it on RB later in the day... Also got exit passes on Deja Vu today, or should I say yesterday, and used it on DV later on. The exit passes are helpful on crowded days.
