What do you think the next coaster to be taken down will be?

Talk about anything that has to do with Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor here.

I'm guessing Iron Wolf. Nobody really rides it, always a short line. I don't like it personally (gives me a headache) so I wouldn't care if it got torn down.

I hate to see coasters go, but I'd say that IW, too. Although it probably won't be until 07, since we just got a huge waterpark for 05 and are getting a *gasp* tornado for 06.

For the last time people! Why would Iron Wolf be removed if they just
re-did supports on it?

For those of you who liked Shock Wave sorry but Im glad they took that down, but to replace it with Superman was stupid, I would like Superman to be next but if anything Im going for Iron Wolf or (again hopeing) Ragin Cajun!

Maybe the support was damaged and had to be fixed before it could operate.

I also like IW. It's a great ride in the front. Do you think they would take down the first B&M standup? Maybe they would, but who knows. I love it.

This topic gets repeated so much...

Anyway, I think Whizzer or Demon would be the next to go. Maybe not soon but someday. It's hard to say, since, didn't Demon get some new paint last season?

I also like Iron Wolf a lot. :)

Well, we all remember when they were gonna close Whizzer. We had people complaining like mad, eventually to remain open.

I would have to say Demon or Whizzer, but personally, i dont like Iron Wolf

I think IW. Ragin' Cajun was just built and I love that ride, so definitely no. And demon doesn't have a suitable footprint for any other ride to go there, so there would be no reason for them to remove it.

It will not be Demon, it is a looping coaster that offers to shorter riders.
Iron Wolf has got a lot of work done on it, so I dont see it going anywhere soon.
Whizzer, this could be the next to go. When they decided to not remove Whizzer, it was not because of popular demand, but other incidents that occurred.

Who says it has to be a coaster removed, it would a water ride or they just may have room in other areas to place a ride in.

Why would they take down SUF? That ride pulls in people every day. Whenever I am there SUF has a FULL queue. That ride is too popular to be taken down. You also have to think about it this way:

1. They will not just remove a ride because they need the space. They need a good enough reason to take down a particular ride.

2. They would consider removing a ride if it gets poor attendence such as IW. Don't get me wrong Iron Wolf is a good coaster, only if you get a certain train and know how to brace yourself.

3. Great America doesn't really like to take down their coasters. So if anything we will see a water ride or a flat ride go.

But lets enjoy HH and worry about what rides are going when that time comes. It won't be for a while. With the Tornado coming next year I doubt they will be building another roller coaster until 2008 maaaaybe 2007.

Superman: Ultimate Flight.........

Popularity: 5/5

Quality: 1/5

Ever since probably late last season the ride has been getting more rough than it should. The trains seem to be constantly in maintnence and it's opening later than Vu. I don't think it will go, but I sure wouldn't cry if it did.

I'm a strong believer that Whizzer should go! They can put a nice
B&M Floorless in that area. I know that Whizzer is a good thing for
kids, but because of it's age and "problems" I think that Whizzer
would be next.

Iron Wolf was the First B&M coaster. It's not going anywhere.

Whizzer is "a one of a kind coaster" the only spiral lift coaster left. It's a great family coaster. It's Doubtful It's going anywhere.

Batman was the first inverted coaster and one of the best coasters there. It's not going anywhere

Demon is the parks original coaster. It is still fun and smooth. SFGA already took out shockwave, they won't take out another Arrow.

Superman and RC are brand new and still have long lines. They're locked in for 10+ years.

RB and Viper are arguably the most intense coasters here, they are fan favorites. They are not leaving.

AM Eagle is old and rough but still is in the top 5 coasters. It's unlikely to be removed.

SSR is too small for really anything so there's not much of a point to move it.

V2 and DejaVu are the favorites at SFGAm. DejaVu has been running well lately, so neither are going anywhere any time soon.

Enough Said.

That is kind of true, it is the only spiral lift coaster left in the United States, but I believe that one was transferred and put up recently somewhere overseas.

How true.

Everytime I have gotten on the ride this year, I had to wait much longer than expected due to 1 or 2 breakdowns.(All my waits would have been 20 minutes or less.)

When it opened in 2003, everyone was saying how the pretzel loop was great and that the rest of the ride is "fun." That's what I thought too. Now the pretzel loop is great, but the rest leaves less to be desired through both comfort and thrill.

BUT, I don't see it going anywhere yet. People seem to still enjoy it and that is all that matters.

Darn lightning bolt. :x

If I can see anything going, it will not be a coaster. The park has stressed many times that they don't HAVE to get rid of a coaster if they don't have to. If there isn't anything wrong with it, then don't fix it.(In this case don't get rid of it.)

BTW, I have heard countless times referring to Iron Wolf, "This is the best ride in the park." Believe it or not.

I was a little disappointed when Shock Wave got taken down....I think it's in storage, so I'm hoping for a resurrection sooner or later. I know the Whiz is pretty good for some of the younger kids, but to me it's not that fun. It's been around a while, so I think that one might go sometime in the near future....

Sorry to ruin your hopes, but Shockwave was burnt and melted down at the end of last season.

Wizzer would only be taken out because of maintenance costs in my opinion. Ragin' Cajun is squeezed in, but if a newer and better type of mouse coaster ever comes out, then we could see a change of trains maybe. Demon will never be taken out, because everything is built around it.
